THE Dons hopes of a major boost in terms of personnel ahead of Saturday's Champ-ionship game against Widnes Vikings, suffered a setback yesterday when head coach Tony Miller managed to sign only one of the players he was chasing,
Two of his targets - an amateur prop and Featherstone stand-off Matt Handforth - cited work commitments as the reason for not joining the South Yorkshire side.
Handforth, however, did express an interest in joining the club next season.
Better news for Miller, though, was the arrival of young Huddersfield full-back Tommy Griffiths at last night's training session.
"He trained well and looked useful," said Miller.
Miller has also been told that young Sheffield Eagles hooker Kyle Keswick has been cleared to join the club on loan from next week.
