We walked back past it after seeing you. It had livened up from when we were in. We ended up back in the Old Angel.

Hobgoblin again earlier this evening in the Sun Inn.

No sign of Stand-Offish though.

Had two pints of Thorne bitter in the Old Angel,,,,,,,nice but a bit at the malty/licquorice end for my palate.
Prefer the Ruddles .......especially at 99p a pint.
I'm a cheapskate.

Well I had a pint of beer in The Ship at Muston near Filey yesterday.
It was the last day of the scarecrow festival........no I didn't win.
It was called Muston Scarecrow Ale........real ale.....creamy and right nice too.

Forgot to put this on yesterday.Went out round Wickersley on saturday night.I cant remember the name of the boozer, its just on the low side of the Masons. They had Acorn brewery ale on called Yorkshire Pride.Very light but a nice drink.Me and my mate wuffy had at least 3.Very nice.Brewed in Barnsley as well!!!

Thorne Brewery beers will be on at the Salutation for the next 6 weeks from this Friday.

You must mean the Three Horseshoes. Haven't been there in yonks but the beer has always had a good reputation . Not tasted the Yorkshire Pride, but Acorn rarely does a bad one, so am not surprised

Very disappointed, the Hob was off in the Sun Inn tonight so just a pint of Marston Ashes Ale (£2.20 - 20% = £1.76). Then up to the Mallard for a pretty expensive pint of John Smiths Magnet (£2.55).

Had a couple of decent bottles from Nick Stafford's Hambleton Ales on Saturday evening ...

Stud 4.3% - A straw coloured 'premium Yorkshire bitter'.

Nightmare 5.0% - A lovely dark creamy stout.

... nearly forgot (as there wasn't much to report from yesterday on the Real Ale front) ...

A pint of Hydes Your Bard 4.1% and a couple of Abbot Ale (predictable I know but enjoyable).

I can happily report that the Hobgoblin was on form tonight in the Sun Inn

Two belting porters this week.

Elland 1872 Porter and Derventio Versuvius ( unintentional spelling error on their pump clip i think

) both at a dangerous 6.5%. If I had to pick a winner I would have to go with the Elland. The Derventio was a bit sweet for my taste, despite reminding me of Old Peculier of old

I'll give that a go. Any idea where the Best Bitter is available currently?

The Elland brew is very nice. I'm sure I'd appreciate the other one too.

Visited a very nice Pub yesterday lunchtime. The Chequers Inn at Ledsham (approx 8 miles east of Leeds) about a mile from the A1 junction with the A63.

Excellent setting, lovely food and a nice pint of Brown Cow Best Bitter.
