I will do better and make sure I always check that a post is showing after I've clicked submit.
I think Danensian's problem was the opposite, it seems to have been posted before he clicked Submit.

Have you ever postulated that a monkey could have, with no knowledge of rugby, done as well as RH?
I admire your faith.
Because that is all it is.

Richard Horne is a young coach with limited experience. He’s going to make mistakes. He’s going to get things wrong. He deserves to be given time.
We’ve clearly improved defensively since he’s been in charge. Only conceding 26 points in Toronto is testament to that. We’ve not lost a game by more than 12 points since he’s been here, many by fewer points than that. Had we cut out some of the mistakes, not given away the silly penalties, we could have won most of them.
Whilst accepting that we’ve not been good enough, comparing Richard Horne to a monkey is extremely unfair.

I am not comparing him to a monkey ... it is poetic licence ... = anybody could have had a similar record to RH's ... even you ... or me.
Where is the expertise he should have brought from his big-time club Hull.
There is little evidence of that.
John Kear would have done miles better.
Please don't talk about money.
Besides we really don't have the time to be nurturing a coach as well as nurturing players.

If he'd inadvertently pressed Submit halfway through, would the first part of his message not have disappeared of his screen?
Something has obviously gone wrong, the guy apologised to readers in his next message. Whoever or what is to blame is irrelevant.

I wouldn't know where to start in taking a rugby training session. I'd have taken them backwards, I'm sure!
I'm not going to talk about money but would John Kear really be interested in leaving a Super League club to take the job? John Kear is an unrealistic target for that reason alone.

No, I am not an apologist... I try to understand things from other people's point of view as well as my own. And I'm not going to apologise for that!

So do I, but I don't buy into
tales like 'it was the computer's error not mine.'
Very, very rarely maybe.
Errors usually are down to the operator.

| Perhaps there is a need to coach technique in the submitting of posts, its obviously quite important to get it right, we don't need anyone knocking on or failing to tackle the keyboard in a way that brings about several comments on this extremely important matter. Failing to submit correctly could stop us getting into the Championship.

Sorry Geoff this is all before my time, I thought Danensian said "Since the very first match in 1951."
I was minus 7 when all this took place.
I assumed this was the very first Dons match of all time but I'll stand corrected if I've misunderstood.

He is an assistant.
If we are serious instead of playing at it ... perhaps we should spend the required money and get a proper coach.

No need to apologise Danensian did say that he had supported the Dons since there very first game but he didn't say he attended the game.
The Dons first ever league game was against Wakefield Trinity played on August 18th at the York Rd Greyhound Stadium the Dons won the game by 10pts -3pts the attendance was estimated to be 10,000.

Thanks Geoff.
I remember visiting the Greyhound Stadium with my dad in the late 1960s to watch the dogs but that was before I started watching the Dons. I started watching the Dons in the mid 1970s.
In the later 1970s, a friend of mine used to work as a mechanic at Claybourns Renault dealership; Stewart Piper used to work there too. My friend helped Stewart to organise some events during his testimonial season, I joined in and helped out too. We had a night at Askern dog track. I can't remember too much about the evening apart from not backing a winner all night! I've bought all my cars from Stewart ever since!
I just assumed Danensian had meant he'd attended the first match when he said he was a supporter at the time.

Father in Law was one of those 10k. He weaned me off football and got me to sample the delights of Tattersfield circa 1978. The ritual of crossing the metal girder that bridged the small dyke opposite Yarbrough Terrace was a Sunday afternoon treat.

I think it was a very large diameter round metal pipe we had to straggle to cross the dyke.

Sorry I should have clarified my answer. I was at that first game at the Greyhound Stadium in Cusworth Lane. I went with my dad and a Scottish gentleman who was staying with us. Viewing at the stadium was poor because there was no banking. However there was a low rail a little way back from the pitch which I stood on to get a better view.
I have refreshed my memory of those days from my copy of Peter Hilton's book "50 Years of Bloody Sundays" which was a history of Doncaster RLFC from 1951 to 2001 the title reflecting the title of the famous TV programme about the club "Another Bloody Sunday".
Incidentally I notice on page 76 of the book thumbnail photos of the club officials for the 1986/87 season including one Geoff Roebuck, Secretary/Director.
I attended one or two more matches at the greyhound stadium that season though have little memory of them. The club won 21, and drew 1, of the 36 games that season and finished in 11th place (out of 31) in the league ahead of such clubs as Leeds, Wakefield Trinity and St Helens.

Wasn't it Tattersfield that was prone to flooding around the kick off area ? When it rained a lot there used to be a big puddle in the centre circle area, or is it me hallucinating ?
