Brilliant from Toulouse and rubbish from Hornets who showed a total lack of class. They don't deserve promotion as most of the game their performance was anti-rugby. COYD

After last nights results we need a convincing win to go into the Rochdale/York games. Its in our hands .

If Barrow win in Toulouse or at home to Keighley we can't catch them.

To catch Rochdale, we'd need to win at their place and hope they lose at home to Hunslet.

The York game is probably the most crucial one as it's within our own control as to whether we catch them. If we slip up today, we can probably forget about catching anyone. Even if we then won at York, they'd still have to slip up against Skolars at home or Keighley away for us to be able to get above them.

Finishing second or third seems unlikely, fourth is a possibility. I think fifth is favourite.

A very close shave having trailed 12-24 at one point

Played a get out of jail free card, we looked very ordinary for long periods, allowing them to offload too often. At the moment I'd say we look anything but promotion material, but credit to them they dug in and won a match we didn't look like winning, so it's still possible, if not probable.

Agree about our m.o.m. Louis Sherrif had a great game playing as a forward in the 2nd half. Sam Doherty had a good game also.

Bet F-J & A.B-J are fuming never got the ball.
Still discipline is a problem , hope I am not being to hard, usual 2 culprits .

Sorry Weighman, I didn't look at my computer again until I got home after the match. This is what I wrote on this thread last Tuesday about Today's game:

It pretty much turned out as I expected with Keighley playing for their lives and our lads giving 100%. I don't think there was much between the sides and Keighley can consider themselves a bit unlucky. If their first drop goal attempt had gone over, just before we got back to within 6 points, it might have worked out differently. All credit to our lads for sticking in there.

I kept some match stats today because I wanted to know whether my gut feelings about games were being backed up by the stats.

Penalties conceded: Dons 8, Keighley 12

Number of sets of six: Dons 23, Keighley 25.

Completed sets: Dons 16, Keighley 21

Sets Not Completed: Dons 7, Keighley 4.

The 8 penalties we gave away were for:

Interference at the play the ball: 3; Not clearing the ruck: 1; Ripping out: 1; High tackle: 1; Ball steal: 1; Markers Not square: 1.

On the seven occasions we failed to complete our sets of six, one was due to a forward pass and six were due to dropped balls.

Anyway, the results today show how nothing can ever be taken for granted. Who'd have thought Hunslet would turn York over? I still don't think we can get to third place but we might if we can win at Rochdale providing Hunslet also win at Rochdale on the last day of the season.

I really enjoyed the battling performance from the lads today.

Sounded tense, well done.

2 weeks to get some players back for a tough 8 days (3 matches).
