Vikings injury update - Lloyd White faces a 10-week spell on the sidelines

The Vikings can confirm that Lloyd White picked up a syndesmosis injury to his left ankle, in the Rd. 19 away victory at Bradford Bulls on Sunday. (I blame the Ipitch)



The Wales international now faces an approximate 10 week spell on the sidelines.

To date, Lloyd has made a total of 20 appearances for the Vikings in all competitions in 2013, and scored 4 tries.


That should leave an opening for Grant Gore to claim a spot on the bench.

Big blow for the lad after the bad injury last year. Think he's done fairly well when you bear in mind he's hardly played minutes at 9 and has had to play 13 a fair bit which I'm quite sure he's never done before.

Would expect Craven comes in first having played some 9 pre-season with Gore another option certainly.

Hope not as bad as feared because 10 weeks is basically the season written off.Clarke has been great this year but he needs a interchange to keep him fresh.Will this interchange be Grant Gore or Craven?I think Gore is a better tackler and that is imperative for a hooker.

You have got to assume that we wont be able to pick up a McShanee quality loan this season, so hopefully Gore will get some game time.
Craven may get a look in as well, as its hard to see him forcing his way into the halves at the moment, unless Brown or Mellor are injured.
I wonder if the young Worky hooker might be offered a game or two?

I feel sorry for White who hasn't spent much time in his preferred hooking role. Hope he gets properly fit for next season and then shows us how well he can really play!

That Callum Philiphs suppose to be a great prospect and maybe worth enticing him to Widnes.

White has suffered with our string of back row injuries and suspensions meaning he rarely got to play 9. Unfortunately he and Clarke are not an ideal blend, as neither are particularly nippy around the ptb, we need a sniping player with quick hands to compliment either of them. White is strong though and has a good step. Its a shame he has been injured again which might rule him out for the season again. I suppose we were never going to be injury free!
