One penalty I wouldn't mind looking at would be the one in the build up to the equalising try... The fax player clearly stands up and takes a good step to his side splitting the markers. They get the penalty when really we should have done for the player moving off his mark.
Other than that I'm willing to believe that the other penalties were justified. However...
I would love to have the opportunity to sit down with the referee and ask him about the thirty other times that players from both sides didn't get square at the play the ball and why he felt that the eight or so he gave against Widnes were more deserving than all the others.
If you're going to award penalties for markers not standing square then surely you should be consistent about it.
