| I doubt either Pickersgill or Haggerty will play. Certainly both won’t. Hags is the most likely of the two to get a bench spot, but I’d go with fully match-fit players. A big final on a hot day can be very draining for the pack, and those who aren’t match-fit will get found out imo.
I’d go with Gannon, Davies, Heckenberg and Houghton. The rest of the pack pick themselves.

I don't.
No disrespect to the lad, I think he's a good player and one we can take up with us should we get there, but finals need experience, and if Haggerty is fit I'd play him first. You know what you're going to get from Haggy and Batley have a big, aggressive pack. I know who I'd rather be facing out of Houghton and Haggerty.

Go for a solid start as Batley know how to beat us after last time so start the game with hard work and discipline then bring on what is a very dangerous interchange!

| Coyle will be busy , playing 7 and on the bench at the same time . Assume you mean Netherton on the bench J20.
Only change to your side for me would be Kav in the 2nd row , Heckenburg on the bench . Then a toss up betweeen Gerrards versatility and Haggys impact value.

| Got to have grady playing somewhere for his goal kicking, I would have him in the 2nd row with Doran and Allen at loose.
My backs would be as follows
Flynn
Gaskell
Varkulis
Gardner
Ainscough
Thacks
Coyle

| Heckenberg is not a seocnd row?! It baffles me what some fans see when they go to games!
He's far too big and not agile enough to play second row and will get caught out by a pacey second rower/centre everytime. In the front row with other people helping him tackle he will do a good job.
Also, Doran is better at loose than Dave Allen for 2 reasons. Doran's workrate is superb in the middle of the field and will tackle all day. And Dave Allen is much more effective attacking outwide due to his excellent offloads.

| He's not and Doran is? Allen can run wide on both sides as loose and has more discretion to move about the park there rather than stick to one side in attack!
Doran would do the same job as a loose as he would a prop big hard yards up the middle whereas a modern loose forward runs about on different plays using his hands as well... see Sinfield, Scully, O'Loughlin etc etc etc.
Hecks defence is prob the best at the club so would rather him making the one on one tackles slightly away from the ruck then anywhere else! You'd still have about 3 players outside him anyway!

It will be a massive lift to get Picks and Haggy back in the front row. I'd be very confident with that front row in place.
It may be a bit too soon for the final unfortunately. Haggy may make it though.
