Toulouse for super league?

They worked hard in defense. They were physical and inventive and had a better kicking game, gaining a lot of ground on penalties.

Some of our decision making in the first half especially was poor.

We showed most commitment, in defense and attack in last 20 minutes, hence the recovery when Toulose began to tire.

I thought Toulouse looked half decent tonight and well up for it, did we think we only had to turn up? Gardner looked hopeless in the first half under the high balls but at least he had a go unlike Yates who doesn't seem to understand that if he lets the first bomb bounce he is making a rod for his own back. Thackeray missed a tackle on Duport for their wingers try but apart from that he was immense, Flynn also got through a ton of work. We paid the price for a poor defensive effort in the first half that ultimately was too much to claw back. The referee was very lenient with 10 metres but he should have sent their hooker (Mitchell) to the bin for his third holding down (the last two were on consecutive tackles). Disappointed is an understatement, but it was nice to see us respond with 26 unanswered points.

Was quite impressed with some of the stuff from Toulouse tonight. They should feel extremely aggrieved at gifting us a bonus point because we should never have really got that close to be fair.

Struggled to cope with their forwards and Nathan Wynn kept us on the backfoot all game with a strong kicking game.

It seemed to be a game too far tonight for the young, patched up side and we seemed to lose Matt Strong in the second half too. Second half turnaround was quite impressive and they gave it a good crack and but for a Gardner dropped ball we might have got even closer to snatching a win although undeserved.

We seem to be missing Webster more than most and the alternatives of Gerrard and Coyle arent really working alongside Thacks who is under immense pressure. To be fair he underlined tonight why he is the best attacking 6 in this league but he cant carry the halves and direct traffic.

All in all a deserved victory for Toulouse. Are we there first major away league scalp ?

You cant help but feel that it's a bit of a one up in the franchise stakes too.

Still, lets roll on to the next game.

The Doran comment is true though.

I thought he was immense again tonight for us but he cost us a try at the start of the second half where he had the ball ripped one on one and it fell back to a Toulouse player who strolled in for an easy score.

He copped a lot of abuse for that and I am certain he will be a focus of topic on there.

It was the same against Fax - the ref seemed to be much more lenient then you come to expect in this league - i just put it down to their genreal inconsistance, could it be something else though? hmmm

still the highest scoring team, got to sort this defence out, warrington were a bit like this under cullen

We didn't help ourselves by being penalised twice when in possession and missing touch from a penalty which is basic stuff.

All teams have blips and this will give us a reality check.Any team would struggle with so many players missing and some are playing already with knocks.We need Farrell,allen,ford and gaskell back as soon as possible.Hopefully get another signing soon as we need the troops.I cant understand why Thompson not been given a chance, as done nothing wrong.

I genuinely think Webster makes a big difference to this side and he is under-appreciated by some for the way that he organizes us. You only have to watch him on a match day yelling out to the others.
Personally I think we are still contenders... Cullen will not let the slight comeback yesterday detract him from handing out some whoopas this week. Unlike McCormack his body language speaks volumes and he was mortified with yesterday's outing. He was screaming at points or at least that's how it looked from the North Stand.
