When toulouse joined us last season , the RFL stated that because they had already signed 5 o/seas players they would be allowed them for one season only and then revert to 2 quota players ?
They then 2 months later ' announced ' who these 5 players were
So this season they are back down to 2 , Correct ?

It's absolutely outstanding that the RFL are continuing to be consistent, unwavering and supportive of clubs during this time.
Consistently two faced, unwavering in the face of warranted criticism and supportive of clubs only if they are in favour.
Someone will sue them one day over all this, and they will win.

I dare say some, or all, of them will now have French passports. I don’t suppose we can argue if that’s the case. There’s plenty of clubs over here that use passports of convenience.
They had these players last season and they were still hopeless, so I’m not too concerned about how strong they’ll be on the pitch. The real shafting is likely to happen in 2011.

Good point. Halifax's quota of foreigners is quite extensive this year. In fact they've pretty much defeated the purpose of having a quota. |

I've seen your posts on the VT about this and tbf I think you do have an excellent point. It's just yet another example of the double standards and lying the RFL put us through and will continue to put us through.
Toulouse are readying themselves for SL here. That much is obvious. They will inevitably be given lots of leg ups and benefits the rest of us don't recieve. It's hard not to feel angry about it when your club is struggling to make ends meet. It's easier to forget about when you're safe in SL with a safety net but down here it feels wrong. I don't have anything against Toulouse, and if I was drawing up a super league tomorrow I'd get them ready for it too, I'd chuck out Cas just to see the faces of some of the smug ***** who love to look down on us, but whilst they are here, and not operating on the same rules, I will resent them a little. |
