| Right then I may as well be the first to get this ball rolling, anybody made any plans or bookings as of yet?
Obviously at the minuter, most of us just weighing our options up. Checked sky scanner and expedia etc, and all direct flights are pretty costly. I am pretty keen on flying with bmi from Manchester to Bordeux (spelling?) and then catching a train or national express type coach. Only about 140 miles from there on to Toulouse.
Also Ryanair fly to Carcessone and that is even closer at 61 miles, but not 100% sure of getting from here to Toulouse.
Anybody know what they are doing yet?
PS Perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea if this thread was a sticky for a little while?

| Matt, have gander at Ryanair from John Lennon to Carcassone. If you include a train or bus ride from there into Toulouse then yer right it may work out cheaper. Big pain the rear end this trip, should imagine it will be worth it though eventually.
This flight from Manchester mate?

| Still weighing it up at the moment. I've had a look at the BMI flights and they seem fairly reasonable.
Was wondering if there might be any kind of an organised package deal?
Probably won't book for a while yet until I know what's happening... if it's on the tv then everyone will be screwed that book the flights for the friday.

| I have heard somebody say the club may charter a plane but tbh I'd rather not wait around for that. Want to try and get it sorted our between now and the end of Janruary. I can't imagine the club announcing anything until the season starts. Think I may now have a gander at these BMI flights.

BMI Baby fly direct from Manchester to Toulouse.
Ours are £183 return (Friday-Sunday) but we play them when the kids are on Easter holidays; the following week the same flights cost £80

Looks like we're at the start of the Summer Holidays so we'll have a similar problem pricewise.

| Beware the fireman strikes at the airport!!
When we went for the Cup game a few years ago we were welcomed to all flights cancelled on the way home. Thus a 6 hour delay and bus journey to Bordeaux for flight home.
We flew from Gatwick direct to Toulose with easyjet. Had 5 of us in the car so shared petrol and the thoughts were it's easier for us to travel in England where we speak the lingo than trying to travel across Southern France.
Not decided on whether we'll be going this year, all depends on finances and whether I can stay gainfully employed!

Considered it, but waiting a) for the price of an official trip and b) for someone else to price it up

They looked into that for the Challenge Cup tie there a few years back, and it turned out that it wasn't viable as it was too costly. Unless they can sort some discount deal, I doubt that will happen.

| If anyone thinks organised tours are pricey, Ive just booked to go to Catalans v Cas, but the Perpignan flights were sold out as I left it too late cos of work.
But Liverpool to Barcelona on easyjet, a premiere classe hotel and a hire car for the 97 mile drive to Perpignan has cost me and dad £164 each.
Looked at the mileage and Barcelona to Toulouse is 163 miles. Roads really good and clear tho.
Hope its of help. Good luck you boys!!

| Hi All.
If anyone wants any help with travel or anything to Toulouse for the game get in touch with me and I will be gald to help. Also met Dave Roti from Catalans Tours recently. Dave is fantastic, and knows the score down there. His prices and his commitment to the game are great.
Independently, Carcassonne from east Midlands, or John Lennon is a good bet. It's a 45 minute drive up the motorway to Toulouse (you have to pay on their motorways, (about twelve Euro.) Citea Carcassonne is a good aparthotel, about ten minutes from the airport in Carcassone. Good prices and do some good deals.
Also, the Bar Felix in Carcassonne is quite central, and are passionate about Rugby League.
Anything else you want, just ask. OK ?

| East Midlands to Carcassonne via Ryanair is probably the best (cheapest) bet. I believe there's a train from Leeds straight to EMA. I'm taking the sprogs and it works out about £45 each I think. It actually works out cheaper going out on Friday and stopping in a hotel rather than flying in the Saturday (about £90ea I think).

| I enjoyed our visit and the restaurant food is good and reasonably priced.
The beer is good too but at a £5 a pint in the city centre it is outrageously expensive.
Believe it or not I hope you win when you visit.
