For "smelly hole of a town" why don't you take in the air around you? The landfill, the soap factory and the sewage plant alone, all of which line the banks of the river mersey smell far worse.. Warrington is hardly a town which smells of sweet mountain air and roses.

The only time Warrington doesn't smell of the soap factory is when the winds blowing from the south-west....hence the saying.... 'it smells like Widnes today.'

this thread is funny I have to say it's been a while since we've had the Widnes fans laying into us

I enjoy the regional humour on these forums. When we have arguments with pie-eaters or any of the Yorkshire folk it seems like they take themselves very seriously and get incredibly defensive and wound up.

Salford and Widnes fans on the other hand know that their rugby teams have seen better days in the past and don't get into a tantrum about it they just tell us to fork off usually with some funny comments as well.

10 years since we were last in this position waiting for the return of Widnes, how time flies. We've all probably seen better days ourselves.

I think you lot should re-paint the 'wire die this way' in white paint on the bridge coming through penketh (i think thats where it used to be anyway)

that image of those three muppets with WOLFS is right up there with the woman on the front of National Geographic as an iconic image of our time. Also remember that time the first views of Widnes away shirt was from that woman in her living room with Corrie on in the background.
