Widnes well on top tonight. Looked much fresher than Barrow who looked to be steamed after their tie against St Helens last week. Excellent game from Netherton & Thackeray. Need a goal kicker though

Netherton and Thackeray had brilliant games and Gaskell had ballard in his back pocket all game.

Gerrard doesn't look good enough though in attack or defence.

Nah... we'll just win by scoring tries... 6 plays 2.. If we had kicked the goals it would have made for a very convincing victory indeed.

Do you know what all game I was adding up the points and thinking if only we had kicked that goal or someone had kicked the other etc or else this will come back by the end of the game to bite us, even Mick Nanyan came to mind, and Dodd's most memorable moments, fact is our boys worked hard tonight and managed to get the win allbeit the hard way bar the last kick, I hope over the next few games Shane will find his kicking boots, if required, because the rest of his game is 100% effort, confidence and self belief and composure is half the battle and tonight I think we saw some of that from the lads. Once again I hold my hands up as being sceptical at the start and delighted with the effort and result.

As was I. I'd rather be sceptical and wrong at a win than optimistic and angry at a loss! Makes a change doesn't it?

He is our only decent goalkicker so i doubt that mate.If could not kick goals i would not have him in the starting 17.

What, he's been one of the most consistent players we've had over the season.

Gardner and Tkl are better centres than Grady.Varkulis,Allen,Kavanagh,Doran are better secondrowers than Grady.This is my opinion, as these have more pace and power.Do not get me wrong though i like Grady, but i feel their are better players than him in the team.He is not a secondrower and i feel centre or Fullback are his postions.I would have Ford in the centre before Grady.Anyway not knocking him as when all players are fit we have a strong team.

TBF to him he tackled a fair bit against Batley but very few of our player covered themselves in glory that day. He only took the ball in 3/4 times in 20 mins on the pitch.

My advice to Heckenberg would be to get out of the fridge and into the gym. He's carrying more timber than a lumberjacks barge.

When I first saw him, in the warm up before the game, I thought a fan had run onto the pitch for a laugh.

Thats bizarre- I spoke to him the week he signed for you and he didn't look to bad although he did say he hadn't done much training due to his shoulder and would take a couple of weeks to get up to speed etc

Im not joking in saying a couple of seasons ago before his shoulder went he was a brilliant forward

Tony Rea said to me he was instrumental in most of London Broncos tries in that he usually took the ball in on before we scored

Dunno whether it was his normal body shape but he certainly seemed to have a gut on him.

I do remember Heckenberg when he was playing regularly and he looked a good un but he has to get himself fit to get more involved and back to where he could/should be.
