Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere,but does anyone know when fixtures are being announced?

Not sure but the full 2023 fixtures were released on 3rd November last year so I imagine similar this year.

Guess our first game will be away. Wouldn't mind a trip down to London for the first up

Fixtures expected to be confirmed week beginning 20th November and Hull Live are suggesting that we could start with a home derby.

What a way to kick start the season or destroy any optimism immediately that would be!

could easily be 20000 plus for that game

Agree with Bonaire as it's probably the best time for a home derby to get a good crowd given our terrible form the past few seasons particularly at home and the false dawns. Strike while the air of optimism is abound before it evaporates and take advantage of the anticipation of the new season after no rugby for 4 months. Also the auld enemy will be frothing at the mouth at the thought of facing a skint club with no hope of bettering 10th

The 2020 home Derby was a great atmosphere. That was only round 2, not sure on the attendance but I'd guess it was in and around 20k.

As long as the west upper stays home fans only too

North Stand Members have been advised they'll be relocated for the Derby Fixtures which means Rovers will get the full North.

Under no circumstances should they have any allocation in the upper West, its just asking for more trouble.

Rovers are the only side to beat us in a round one fixture since 2014 - the last minute Keinhorst try at CP in 2019. They also beat us in round one in 2011 at Cardiff.

Not keen on a derby being the opener, both sides have new signings to bed in and the opening game already gets a good crowd. Be better if it is round2 or 3 in my opinion.

Also makes sense to move home fans from the North stand for the derby given the issues this year. Not a lot the club can do to stop Rovers fans buying West Upper tickets but passholders getting a chance to buy extra tickets for friends first would help keep the tickets to Hull fans first.

I think we had a SL record attendances for a opening round a few years back by having mostly derbies .

I think they did, but opening games always draw a good crowd and not every derby will be a loop game. I think Wigan-Saints is down for magic for example.

Speaking of Magic it seems theres no clue when or where it will be, makes me suspect football grounds are interested in an August/September slot but lets see.

Sky Bet are apparently offering odds on these fixtures for weekend 10th/11th August which suggests that's when Magic weekend will happen

I like Newcasle but part of me wonders if somewhere new injects a bit of life into it. Nottingham isnt a bad shout, good city for bars and at 30k capacity a good chance it would sell out (60k is the usual weekend figure)

In the longer term Everton's new stadium worth a go too, top class 53k ground and crucially close to Liverpool centre unlike Anfield which is a trek.

As good as Newcastle is a change probs best for a few seasons spread it around the country a bit

Liverpool is too close to heartlands imo the whole idea of magic weekend is to try promote the game is other areas
