| Sad to lose another player from that golden era. Proper old school hooker.

| Anyone who lived through Hull Fc in the 70's and early 80's will never underestimate the impact Tony had on the club. He was a player who was ultra loyal to the FC and was always there when needed, he played more A team than first team and yet he was a real grafter but had to make way for players like Flash Flanagan Ronnie Wiseman, and Keith Bridges who were brought in as 'big name' signings. However, he waited and stayed loyal and when called upon he never once let the club down, a rugged old fashioned 'dog' of a mudlark who always gave 100%. he played in that historic last game of the undefeated 78/79 season, but his greatest hour was in the 1982 Cup Final replay when an injury to Ronnie Wileman gave Tony (then aged 37) his big chance and once again he was a real hero in an unforgettable night of heroes . An unassuming gentleman of a guy off the field, he was always there when the heat was on defending his team mates, Tony was a great clubman and a good player; great memories. RIP Tony Duke.

| I understand he hasn't been in the best of health but it's sad to hear the news and my condolences go to his family and friends.
As COYH stated an old school number 9 who will be forever remembered as part of our 1982 Challenge Cup win. I was lucky to be there and I will treasure that night for the rest of my days.
Rip Tony Duke.

| Brought up and went to school with Tony and his brother Terry. Tony was such a modest person who always had time to talk. Never thought Tony would play rugby seemed more interested in football when he was younger. There seemed to be a good crop of FC players around that time who came from Wilb erforce High,Shaun O'Brian,Chris Davidson,Mally Owbridge and one or two who went to rovers. R.I.P Tony, remembering our Wawne Street days
