| Can't beat Yeamo's quote in the article in the HDM "Coming from East Hull people automatically think you should go and play for Hull KR," Yeaman explained. "Personally I couldn't think of anything worse".
Fair play to Yeamo, his induction in to the clubs Hall of Fame is fully deserved.

Even he'd been a poor player (which he wasn't), the quote above is worthy of a place in the Hall of Fame. Well done Yeamo.

| It was about time that Jack Harrison was added so that was good to see. What a glaring omission up to now, especially when (no offence) Vaikona is in there despite just four seasons at the club. He scored a lot of tries but most of them were in the Championship.
I wonder why the club record appearance holder, Ned Rogers has never been added? What a career - 500 appearances over almost twenty years., 103 tries and 533 goals. He would've played over 600 had it not been for World War I.
Brian Hancock should be in there too.

| Long overdue for Yeamo a true hero and one that has shown his absolute loyalty over the years with his quotes about his love of the Club. I once asked him about the day Rovers tried to sign him, he laughed!!!!! Being on his Testimonial Committee with Lisa his wife was a real honour (simply because they appreciated what we all did for them so much) as was dedicating a book to him. Loyalty such as Yeamo showed to our beloved Club should be rewarded, particularly when he is the clubs third highest scorer and played the amount of games he did. Statistics that don't lie. Top bloke on and off the field!

| Incredible that Roy Francis is not included. An iconic player, team captain, player coach and coach in Hull's greatest decade in their history.

| Never really paid attention to it before, but had a look yesterday, really surprised to see Vaikona there, think they are plenty of others who deserve a place more than him.

It does seem a bit lopsided. If you look at the names on the list it’s mostly 80’s and 90’s based. Perhaps Wilf can shake them up a bit. You could always write and nominate Roy.

I was thinking the same when I looked at that list. Startling omission.

The 50's is well represented with 5 out of 6 of that magnificent pack that Francis put together from the early 50's when he played with and coached them. Keegan arrived in the late 50's as a 20 year old.
If people who put this list together think that Roy Francis does not warrant a place in the Hall of Fame then so be it!
I can only offer my most profound dismay/disgust at their decision.

I agree, there seemed to be a quiet air of optimism and positivity from everyone, the players were far more engaging and seemed happier to be there, They usually can't wait to get out the door.

I completely agree a glaring admission he played 127 games for us and he scored a try every other game. Coach us for 10 years in two spells, He was hailed as an innovator as a coach and a visionary using the first ever video analysis and personal training plans in our game. When he was made our coach he was the first black British Coach in ANY SPORT! Plus League title in 1956 and 58 and took us to two finals at Wembley 1959/60 and of course invented what was known back then as the Power pack where forwards could for the first time run and pass instead of grunting their way up field.

Thinking about that the only trophy KR have been more successful at winning than Hull is the old Yorkshire Cup.
Rovers won it 7 times to 5 and in 3 finals when the 2 clubs were involved KR had the edge 2-1.
Having said that Hull did win it 3 times in a row with the last game a corker against KR played at Boothferry Park in 1984 with a bumper crowd there to witness it.

| And a fabulous Gary Kemble try, returning a drop out from Rovers I think, I was there that day and was fearing the worst when Rovers roared into the lead, then we posted 29 unanswered points. Lee Crooks' first half try, just before half time swung it back our way and a Steve Evans interception 80 yard special was the icing on the cake. didn't Paul Rose get sent off , or am I remembering that wrongly. If I am remembering correctly, he came on as substitute and stiff armed someone, or is that from another game?

Yes, Paul Rose was sent off in the 1984-85 Yorkshire Cup Final. He came on as a 73rd minute substitute and was red carded after just ninety seconds on the pitch and without touching the ball.
Rose was the first player to be sin-binned at Wembley which was during the 1983 final against Featherstone.

| Just cleaning up some statistics posted by Wilf.
Francis was in charge of Hull in 2 spells totaling 15 years. After joining Hull from Warrington in 1949 he took over as coach from Joe Oliver in 1950 until 1963 when Johnny Whiteley succeeded him. He retired from playing in 1955.
After leaving Hull Francis had spells with Leeds ( after 2 unsuccessful Wembley finals with Hull he won with his 3rd attempt there) and a spell coaching North Sydney for a couple of seasons in the ARL.( first British coach in Aus).
He subsequently returned to Hull as Team Manager from 1971-1973.
I first saw Francis play at centre for Warrington against Hull at the Boulevard in 1948 when he and Brian Bevan were instrumental in a substantial Warrington win.
For those interested there is a book out covering the Biography of Roy called "Ahead Of His Time" written by Geoff Lee. Highly recommended!

Cheers for the reminder, memory not as sharp as was once, Paul Rose was a good servant, considering from where he arrived. I liked his wide running but he was always prone to temper explosions, ala the above game. The Fev game I try to blot out, , if they'd played like we all knew they could, when we took the lead we all thought the floodgates would open and it just got worse didn't it?

Yes the definition of complacency, that game. We'd just won the league, were in great form and presumably the team thought they only had to go through the motions to win the Cup.
