And today announced as joining the England training squad for the World Cup. With the final cut to 24 players on Friday and the form and injuries on a couple of the present half backs fully expect Sneyd to gain his first international cap at the ripe old age of 31 years old.

Had a decent 2nd half of the season, but still no where near good enough to play internationally, probably shows the lack of halfbacks we have. Hard to believe he didn't make the squad in either 2016/17 when he was in great form and a better player than he is now.

I'm glad he's been recognised and I said when he left we shouldn't have let him go, the future will tell us if I and many others were right I guess but he could not have been worse than our half back combinations last year and his replacement was nowhere near him. Always a hero for those two finals for me, but, I've saved and watch from time to time the end of the Catalans game that he won single handedly, getting us to extra time with a brilliant short kick off and a fifty yard penalty and then winning it for us on his own against the kick off in extra time. I doubt he'll cut it against the top international outfits, on that stage but Good Luck to him.

Maybe he'll be the calm head we need against the Aussies / Kiwis / Tonga....we might convert some union fans over to league too if they see Sneyd taking the two wherever possible on national TV

Never understood why more rugby kickers don’t go and give NFL a go. Earn a fortune without being run over.

Anyway, he’s not the complete player, but his strengths win you games. That Catalan away game he won was madness.
