Stick Bowden in the first 17 for Lane or Fash and it’s not a bad lineup at all, it’s just any injury in the forwards and we’re up the creek. Can’t see Masi getting many more chances given he’s gone backwards, and Jack Brown impressed me in fairness but is a way off being a regular starter just yet.

We need Bowden back to his form in 2016

I thought Bowden finished the season well and started to look more like the 2016 player, he needs to continue that form, as he will have Brown breathing down his neck, who looked good again, but lacked a but of defensive strength at times, an off season should improve that though.

I agree Dave I thought Bowden improved as the season went along, to be fair I think he's struggled to get back from his injuries physically and mentally. Having a run of playing regular games certainly helped him, hopefully the arrival of a new coach and different methods will bring more out of Bowden.

As with Brown he is certainly a raw talent that needs work on the finer aspects of his game who will only get better and improve.

Have to say top marks to Shaul and his attitude and putting team first in regards to the number 1.

I know it's a subject that splits opinion as to whether squad numbers mean anything or have any affect on players etc but I think to give up the number 1 jersey takes a lot to do for any player regardless of being injured and missing a large part of this season.

He's had is knockers and share of criticism over the last few years of which I myself have criticised him at times but he rightly should be applauded for his attitude.
I think this shows that there is a definite change in terms of mentality and togetherness since the arrival of Brett Hodgson and the team first aspect, which can only be of benefit moving forward.

I'd love to be proved wrong about Shaul,just hasn't kicked on me, he now has a few months to work on his game and he wont have a better person to learn off than Hodgson.

Would give Hodgson a good headache of where to play Connor.

Looking back to 2016 both Bowden and Green were playing off the bench to in form Watts and Taylor and having Minichello,Sika Manu,Big Frank and Gaz Ellis in the team in my opinion made them raise their game.
It was also significant the form of Danny Houghton.
