| Richard Horne for me.
OK he played most games at 6 but IMO he was a FB should have played FB for Hull.... we should have kept Brough and signed a 6 from the NRL. Then Cooke could have carried on playing at 13, earned a GB call up and we would have beaten the aussies. But this didn't happen (not that I ever think about it)... so Shaul is the best FB

| George Robinson, all the way for me. His last line of defence was to go to ground with his arris in the air imitating a bike rack and when the attacking player stopped to see what the Hell he was doing, he tripped them up.

| Before my time but my dad always says Arthur Keegan, I thought he was from Hull but I just checked and he was born in Dewsbury. Tough choice for me then between Jamie Shaul and Richard Gay. I think by the time he retires it will be Jamie Shaul.

| Mally Owbridge was a good un just could not shift the best in the late Arthur Keegan.
Mick Kendle was not bad but he was a Beverley lad.

Yay “cough mixture” Mally Owbridge, emigrated to Australia years ago, but was back in Hull recently.

| Here’s something for you
When I coached Jamie Shaul I played him at hooker from aged 10
He was so fast from acting half and also followed all the breaks made
We had a fantastic full back but forgot his full name
Ryan .......Spouse ! he was on scholarship at FC
at FC and at the time a much better player than Jamie
Jamie kept Kurtis Jackson out of the side and Kurtis was a great hooker following in Dads footsteps
Aaron Ollett (Rovers) played in the same side at Centre and Dean Hadley in 2nd row
In fact Lee Williams was 6 -FC scholarship
And Sam Walsh was my 7 again FC scholarship but ended up with a long ban
I’m not sure when Jamie switches to FB

I don’t recall Jamie playing other than full back for us, he probably has one time or another, I think he was a bricklayer before signing professional.
junior and schoolboy level there are many starlets who don’t come through, due to dedication, work, lifestyles etc. Jamie must have taken the full back role as an amateur.
Radders has always championed Jamie’s talent and ability, and even when displaced by Rankin for form loss, Radders seemed to know who his ace in the hole was.
