Jake Connor from Huddersfield has signed for us on a 2 year deal starting next season.

Think it's a really astute signing can play anywhere in the backs and a great age too.

Came from left field this signing as did Griffin so it's good to see professional from the club in keeping names under wraps until any deal is done.

Beat me to it, lots of potential. Young and British plus can play a few positions.

Know little of him but what I have heard is good, looks to have a bit of flair about him but not sure on his best position

Seems a great signing, Yeamo to be gone? On current form seems a bit harsh, or Michaels to free up cap and quota?

Good signing, nine tries and and impressive nine try assists so far this season.

Imagine this means Michaels is 100% going which is a shame as I like him. That's said Connor is an upgrade on him and probably the same value on the salary cap too.

Difficult to say whether he will be good for you or not.

I am not his favourite fan. Can be aggressive but gives away silly penalties. My feeling is that he is too slow to play in the backs strong defender at those coming straight at him but his lateral defence is poor.

The big problem s that we have used him as a utility so has never settled in one position.

Not upset to see him go .

With different coaching and a settled position he could develop.

If I was a Hull fan I would be neither disappointed or excited. Could do well could be a flop.

Can see him challenging Tuimavave for the 6 shirt. Got some good skills, just a shame hes not had the chance to show it because Brough runs the show there.

I think Durham has been disengenuous there. Connor is a real homegrown talent who initially played his academy rugby at half back, got switched to fullback due to injury and was subsequently picked for international duties. He played internationally a then more unaccustomed position of centre, he's also played on the wing for us this season. He lacks pace but his understanding of the game makes up for that. Yes he does miss the odd tackle, and give away the odd penalty but he's an aggressive player who gives his all. It's difficult to say where his best position is, I like him in the halves but his kicking game is hit and miss, and his lack of pace limits him there and at centre or wing. He's not a fullback for me although can do a decent job there. I suspect he will end up at second row eventually.
I do however think the announcement is poor timing by hull FC.

In what way?

In the same way as sacking the head and assistant coaches two days after one of their young guys tragically passed away. Both things could have been left a week for the focus to be on Ronan this weekend.

Good cover for us in the halves, still young who will learn a lot.

If he has been signed as cover in the halves it could see out of contract HTW following Dean I guess.

As you've said on your board, this week was a time where everyone should be able to pull together, but unfortunately that hasn't happened. It's a real shame, but it sounds like the minutes applauses at the games yesterday were all impeccable.

Defo a good signing. Adds more cover and depth to the squad. We're already the best covered squad depth wise imo. Gonna be more so. And we've another centre coming in
