| Interesting move from city - apparently costs them £1/4m at pass renewal time so moving over to monthly direct debit scheme with "oyster style" cards. Presume this means a change of technology at the turnstyles? If so will we follow suit? Also they're not issuing memberships for west upper which will only be open when needed - good to see consistency from the SMC on that one

I guess the risk of a monthly direct debit is people can cancel mid season if performances aren't up to scratch

Same, prefer to save up through the year and be shot of it in one go, means i don't have as many direct debits to keep track of as well.

find it hard to believe fans will be better off too, what happens if you join up and want to sit in a certain area but find its full or can't get seats together, then you have to spend more money for a different zone! no thanks
only one side will benefit and it wont be the fans

| I think its a bonus if you only pay for yourself as an adult, end up saving a lot. I believe its a flat price structure i.e. no concessions or kids, will make the 'oyster card' thing work as you wont be able to scam a concession / kids pass.
An adult going with 1 or 2 kids will increase the price paid massively.

| If the turnstyles had 2D scanners instead of the cheaper laser scanners you could send e-tickets to a mobile or tablet without the need for any physical ticket and scan direct from that device thus saving thousands an additionally not having to produce a chip based card (or indeed far fewer) This can be done for season ticket holders also.

You'd still have to have an option for physical tickets of course for people who don't have the technological option, older people for example or people that simply don't really like using technology. I'm not old but I prefer have something physical as opposed to digital.

| I totally accept that, but if the club/SMC want to reduce costs then for those fans that are happy with that and I would hazard a guess a fairly large % of our fan base would be and have the tech to do so that's an awful lot of paper tickets saved from being printed.
When you look at when those recieving pensions had to go to getting a post office card from using a paper booklet I totally understand the issues, I've been a volunteer for Age UK for 14 years so have a better understanding than most and to be honest a lot of older folk once shown how and the many advantages are more than able to use modern technology confidently and are grateful for having something that can help empower them and be a life tool.

| No concessions isn't going to go down too well.
If you're a "senior citizen" with a decent seat at the moment, the answer is "pay a lot more", or find a cheaper (worse) seat.
And if you're under 15, you can't come at all unless accompanied by an adult, and then you'll pay the full price. This won't, of course, be any more expensive if the adult moves to a cheaper (worse) seat.
I can't imagine many juniors trying to get in with the "help" of an adult if it's going to cost them between £324 and £498 to get a season's card.

| Just see this comment on a Hull City page on fb
As a 19 year old, I paid £165 for my pass last year because I fell into the 13-18 section. Having done the calculation, I will now have to pay £498 to stay in my same seat in the east stand.
You aren't pricing me out Allam, I'll support my team through thick and thin. UTT

He could have saved that in not paying that Ramirez on loan for 3 WEEKS. D7ckhead he is.

| Massive risk by City on two different fronts. One they risk pushing junior and oap fans away and the other risk is that you can cancel your season ticket at one months notice after 3 months, so if they have an average or poor end to a season many may give up early and that'll cost some serious money and leave empty stands.
I can understand the Allams arguement that processing thousands of season pass forms each year is costly and outdated, but surely encouraging fans to move over to this scheme with a small discount and phasing it in would have been better than one big change. Alternatively simply getting fans to complete applications online instead of on paper would cut costs without the need for memberships.

So do I. Don't agree with everything the Allams have done, but the past 8 years have been the best in City's history and think the City benefits more when any of our teams are successful.
Agree that a one month's notice period is risky. Would have thought a monthly direct debit scheme were you in affect pay for your season ticket in advance of all the games being played would be a more balanced approach.

| The general principles are good - allows costs to be spread over a longer period. An FC pass for decent seats would be £20 per month. Suddenly makes it look more affordable to more people. City have got their pricing wrong and the lack of child prices is also an issue.
Wouldn't work for FC unless people signed up for a minimum of 12 months with (say) a 2-3 month notice period. One months notice for city is a risky strategy - although after initial memberships, people rejoining have to pay a fee of around £50.
It works in the NBA, but they also have the ability to resell tickets via stub hub or the like for when they can't go to games - that is required given the vast numbers of games each week in the NBA.

| A non refundable £50 deposit then the rest payable over 5 or 6 months with final payment 4 months before season end would be safer/less risky and still make it easier to budget for.
I know things are tight for some but less than 2 pints of beer a week equates to a season ticket for us.
