| If you want to have a look at what the Boulevard looks like now - FC Voices are holding a Memorial to the Boulevard at the Boulevard Acadamy school on Saturday 19th September at 10am. Funds have been raised to buy a stone memorial for the memory of the Boulevard and also to remember those that have their ashes scattered at our "sacred home". The RFL will also be unveiling a blue plaque as one of their original 22 grounds. Ex players will be in attendance, refreshments available and also some artifacts we have gathered to display. Hope to see some familiar faces there

| "ALWAYS BETTER", inaccurate rose tinted spectacles.
I guess you weren't at the KC for that comeback win against St.Helens about 3 seasons ago, the 34-6 dry bumming we gave saints in 2003, what about the Bradford play-off game, the atmosphere for that was epic! The wins against the dobbins, equal to most of the very best nights at the Boulevard.
I bet you forget the utterly souless bitter nights at the Boulevard when we were getting beat by the likes of Sheffield Eagles in front of 2750 fans (that's only 20 years ago BTW!), I guess you weren't there that night when we got battered by the mighty Swinton Lions in the 88/89 season in front of 4000 fans, how about the 70s when I think there were less than 1000 brave souls watch us scrap a win against Huyton.
Please let's have some balance, it isn't the stadium, it's the rugby on the field that dictates how fans feel and the atmosphere that follows.

You can spin this both ways - you focus on the negative at Boulevard and positive at KC! I remember losing 7-0 to Widens at the KC for example - probably the worst performance and atmosphere I have ever experienced.
The KC is too big, and it does engulf the atmosphere when only say 9000 in there (and little away support)
I think overall the Boulevard wins overall in terms of atmosphere.
I agree the product on the pitch does dictate a lot of it though.

| The Boulevard was a wreck. It was old, the facilities were rubbish, the view from the ends was terrible. The atmosphere was never the same after they made the 3d stand 2/3 seating. And I agree, sometimes the games were abysmal. Anyone else remember playing Bramley in a pre-season friendly? Just me then!
But, I always knew exactly who was going to be in the stands, where they'd be, and we'd have a laugh. I miss that. I miss the banter, and I miss the fact that the crowd were a knowledgable bunch who were up for a game.
The KC is a fantastic facility, with a roof, seating, decent toilets, good food outlets (apart from the price), and an excellent view of the ground. But even when it's full of 23,000 people, the atmosphere is dire. And when the crowd dips to 7/8/9k, it can be like a ghost town. Not mentioning the price.
The trouble isn't just the size of the ground, but the camaraderie amongst the supporters. The old supporters got split up when we moved, and it's now full of new fans, and that's great. But they don't have the same understanding of how to support their team; we have about 3 songs nowadays. And we never use to leave 10 minutes before the end of the game.
It's notable how the East stand at Caravan Park, all terraced, creates a great atmosphere. As does Warrington's gaff. It's noticeable how much better the atmosphere is at away matches as well. Cas tomorrow night will be fantastic!
We lost all that at the Boulevard. And that's why I'd go back there in a second. Albeit with better toilets!

You clearly didn't read/understand what I wrote because I certainly did not focus on the negatives about the Boulevard, what I did was counter the statement made by the OP in his fanzine that the atmosphere at the Boulevard was ALWAYS better.
I said that the atmos at the KC at times has being the equal of the vast majority of occasions at the Boulevard, of course there have being some amazing games there and I amongst many have being blessed on those occasions when the place was rocking. But the examples i gave are not isolated from the dire times at the Boulevard as some of the older fans can atest to.
And sorry but you're wrong, the KC isn't too big (those calling for our own 14k-15k capacity stadium are short sighted at best!) and if 9000 fans are buzzing the atmosphere is great.
The problem is that the fans have not had too many games to get buzzing about, improve the product on field and the atmosphere follows as sure as night follows day

Who rattled your cage, I'm having a reasoned discussion and you can't wait to butt in year in, year out with the same old shiate without adding anything with regard the thread.
And WTF is going on with you adding quotation marks to your own words?

I think you'll find that adding quotation marks to a QUOTE is fairly standard practice!

| I am a Leeds fan who used to love going to the Boulevard,it had an atmosphere all of its own. We very rarely won there though. Give me the Boulevard,Wheldon Rd etc anytime rather than these new stadiums
