Callum Lancaster and HTW are both 1st team players who train full time with the first team, Callum since the back end of last season and Harry for over a year now, and well done to them both for their call up. My point was, and i repeat for the idiots, not one youth team or academy player has been called up.

I will be surprised if they don't play, they are both exceptional talents. My point is FC has a wonderful academy set-up that the owner has obviously invested a lot of money in. Everyone comments on how much it has improved over the past couple of years, and how much better it is than the Rovers set-up. However not one of the lads who trains with either the Youth or Academy at Bishop Burton has been selected for the England squads.

Do they? Everyone? Post a few, say 10, links to back this up please.

The following clubs and the number of players who have been called up to the 2 England squads named today. This is players who train with their respective acadamy's or youth teams not those who train full time with their 1st team squads.

Leeds Rhinos = 8
St Helens = 5
Widnes Vikings = 5
HKR = 4
Huddersfield Giants = 3
Warrington Wolves = 3
Wakefield Wildcats - 2
Castleford Tigers = 1
Salford = 0
Hull FC = 0

The attrition rate is high. Plenty of kids who look promising at 16 to 18 get overtaken by others who develop a little later. It's nice for the lads, and they should enjoy it. How meaningful it is, in the long term, I remain unsure.
Still, congratulations to all the players in both squads and all the clubs represented.

so because your players aren't good enough to train with the 1st team squad this somehow makes them better? Hull are taking a pro active approach to improve their youngsters. This isn't a negative, it's a positive.

I get the point and actually it's quite a good point and shows that we are still quite a ways behind the top teams

Whichever way you look at it we have 2 players out of 48 in either squad which is pretty poor & shows we've a long way to go still, as I've said before it's the youth/academy coaching that is as important if not more so than the 1st team so that we ensure we are getting a good crop every year that are ready to be bloodied in SL, at the moment they are coming through in dribs & drabs, Wigan for instance get a good half dozen every year without fail

Part of the assessment criteria by the RFL when carrying out their yearly audits of academies is how many have gone on to represent the 1st team and how many have been called into the respective England squads. But you know best and say its a positive.

Is that why yours' is assessed as poor then?

Why are you so sure he's one of ours? His opening salvo to his very brief posting history would suggest otherwise.
