He played his best game in the fog at Saints..... and that is probably remembered more for the hand off on pryce than anything else. Hell even Longy looked good in that game

I read somewhere he asked to be released a number of times from his Wigan contract, because he and his family wanted to go back to New Zealand. By all accounts he has been suffering from depression. Wigan have now granted his wish so all the best of luck to him.

he was far from rubbish at Wigan he was actually a solid player when fit. Unfortunately like powell they both have off field problems but i would say he is far from what hull fc describe him as.

Easy for a player to look good in a good team. When a team is up against it you get a good idea of what a player is like. He went missing way too much during games and was very poor in the tackle.

I get that but if he didn't commit and apply him self 100 percent at wigan he wouldn't of got a game. He is no world beater but he is a decent prop in my opinion.

An immensely frustrating player. Big, strong, quick for his size and good hands at times. He had the physical attributes to be a very good player. Unfortunately the million dollar body was combined with a 2 cent brain which greatly reduced his effectiveness and made him a liability at times. NZ's lite answer to Gareth Hock, though Hock hit the heights more often but also plumbed the depths more.

Just one of those players will never fulfil his potential for whatever reasons, might be lack of application on his part, some maybe not his fault. Had everything physically for a forward. To be fair though I'd sooner take a chance on a 100 players like him then settle for mediocrity like Hull have done at times. There was a case to say he was picked on a bit by referees aswell, if he was a young kid maybe worth another shot but he must be pushing 30 now?

Overall though, apart from that run at Saints and a few big runs and hits, the thing that sticks to my mind is that he really should have levelled Burrow good and proper when he was acting up with his small man syndrome, would have been worth his 3 year deal alone.

I would welcome him back with as much enthusiasm I would have for Hutch.

He certainly looked the part and must admit I thought you’d got a good player when he signed. As has been said his temper / inability to avoid being wound up was his undoing. The CP derby a few years ago epitomised this, where he was on the field about ten minutes and had 3 talkings too and had tried to fight everyone on the pitch. (If I’m honest he was hard done too as Newton iirc really gave him a going over) Funny as hell tho.

I remember that game and the way he was treat by Richard Silverwood was terrible. He was spoken to by the referee as soon as he set foot on the pitch without having touched the ball or made a tackle and was given a warning.

On the TV you could clearly hear Silverwood saying to Lauwaki "I'm watching you" in a tone that seemed to be an invite for Rovers players to take their own measures.

I think it was in a game v Bradford, the ref was talking to him, as if he was a 5 year old. Lauaki asked why he was talking like that, the ref replied, pointing at Radford, " cos he said you don't speak English". Radders was laughing his head off lol
