Well known local philanthropist offered to buy the land and buildings at Chants Ave from YPI who are skint.
His offer was based on an independent valuation of the site and the YPI trustees accepted his offer.
Said philanthropist then sought to reduce the price.
Because YPI is a charity the consent of the Charity Commission was needed. They would not agree to the land being sold for so much less than it was worth so the sale fell through.
