I seem to recall that you lost a game once by a try against Salford from a pass that bounced like 10 metres in front of the player who caught it?

This isn't referring to any one thing, it is the game as a whole. If you'd read it, you'd realise that.

The bloke who slammed McDonnell into the floor getting let off lightly and only being put on report. That kind of thing.

Again, you don't have to sign it, but don't cause something that's not there with flippant comments please.

I really hope RL is not slipping the way of football in blaming the officials rather than look at the deficiencies of the players and the coaches. Its not relevant or fair to focus on the officials decision, when the players are guilty of multiple errors during games. Whilst your at it, why not train to become a referee

I agree with you, but this isn't about saying that every game that my team, or your team, or any team loses is based on the officials.

The result of the game is based on the players, for instance who is to say had Green's try not been given that we wouldn't have knocked on and let you in to score. I 100% agree with that. What I am getting at is that decisions like the ones that go to the screen should not be happening in a million years. As well as other things that go on in games, like the ridiculous over use of putting players on report.

You all called Ganson to the hills for the forward pass he missed in the derby a couple of years ago. This was the talking point of the game for a long time, which should not be the case. The referee is always a topic of discussion, something that I certainly don't want to be paying money to do in the future.

While I think there are a lot of dubious calls and i often moan like hell about many decisions made, I also have never done the job, and understand that their job is a lot more difficult than refereeing a game of football. They often get one look at an incident and have to make a call on what they see, or often ask for the touch judges opinion who is maybe thirty yards away from the incident. I would like to see another ref on the pitch around the rook, as in the NRL, this could only improve the officiating.
While it may sound like I am sticking up for the refs, I can honestly understand where people are coming from, but unfortunately we don't have the structure to produce loads of quality referees.

This petition is a well-meaning waste of time.

RL referees make mistakes. So do football referees and cricket umpires. It happens because they are human.

You can have as many officials and as much technology as you want but unless you replay every contentious decision (in which case a match would last about 2 hours) you won't eliminate all the mistakes.

Its a difficult job and there aren't enough refs. Personally I would like to see more former players taking up officiating.

I have some sympathy for those fans who bemoan the standard of refereeing but I have no time for the conspiracy theorists who claim referees are corrupt or favour the big clubs or are biaised against certain clubs.

The RFL have already discussed this in the past but because of money restraints they have said it isn't feasible. The RFL isn't awash with money like the NRL and we don't have access the the pool of referees that the NRL have.

This is true, yet we are constantly throwing money at London, and Bradford were bailed out last year by the RFL. Also, if we attracted sponsors with more than £0 coming in, maybe that money would be there?

Typical small club mentality, refereeing is no better or worse than it has been for years.

This was only ever going one way.
