Needs to play more minutes, we're a better team when he's on the pitch (in attack) always steps out from dummy half and engages the A defender, leaving our forwards a better chance of a quick ptb.
Runs across the line and is always in support, great brain too. Definitely a player that has got better with age.

Happy with us playing him as we are, spelling him with Houghton, the variety of play from both catches the opposition out on many an occassion, we often see a lift in play when he comes on the pitch, if he was on from the start don't think he would have the same impact.

Not arguing with any of that, the issue isn't him playing 80 minutes or even starting. Just that he isn't on the pitch enough.
He comes on after 30 minutes and is gone again by 55-60. Don't think that's enough personally.

Very much an unsung hero in this team, his first season was disrupted by the long-injury he suffered, this year he has brought much needed creativity in to the side.

I think he would play longer if his passing from acting half and the base of the scrum wasnt so poor and slow

How does Houghton play so many minutes then?

Played well again - very good player who goes about his business in the right way. Very professional off-field as well according to previous comments about him.

Hardened to it? Houghton had no choice earlier in the season when Heremaia was having to play in the halves, Houghton not only puts in the minutes but also has a phenominal work rate (top tackler in SL IIRC).

Two different players (albeit playing the same position) and playing them as he is I think PG is getting the best out of both.

991 so far this season. Head and shoulders above everybody else (which for such a small bloke is some feat).

I would like to see the stats because I feel like we look great in defence and poor in attack when Houghton is on the pitch and the opposite when Heremaia is on. In fact my normal feeling is we wave a flag saying "here we go for points now" when he comes on. Does Opta or anything show who was actually on the pitch for our tries and when we conceed?

How do we manage that?

I knew what you meant anyway mate, I don't really think Houghton effects our attack that much. These last few games he's been pretty good really, especially his scooting. Loved his vision for Briscoe's try yesterday, run-around & then a grubber to the corner, don't see that to often anymore.
