I have noticed that a lot of the Tennis players wear Tape on Arms and Knees etc. I have researched and found that it is Kinesiotape does any-one know were I can buy this. Boots don't stock.

Loads of athletes in London 2012 had it on, read a bit about it, apparently to get any benefit you need to be specially trained to apply it, and there are very few qualified to do it. (may be more now its more popular)

Why do you need id it?

Not been proven as a major aid to any types of injury, more a placebo effect.

For me its on par with using 'sports drinks' as opposed to water , or to Dr Christian it may be in place of Homeopathy

The tape is used extensively by the physiotherapists at the West Hull Club. Judging by my lad it does seem to work if kept in place for several days.

I believe both physiotherapists at West Hull have their own practices so it maybe worth contacting them, they'll do a diagnosis and apply the tape in the correct manner.

'Sports drinks' do actually work. Much like the tpe, it depends how you use it. It is only meant for a small amout of consumption during or just after activity. Essentially it contains salts that allow you to absorb more water into the bloodstream. It's to stop you drinking lots of fluid and getting the 'flooded effect' whereby you drink far too much to quench thirst and it becomes uncomfortable to move

Out of interest why do you need it?

If your injured, sticking this tape on the problem area and playing as normal will do you more damage than good.

Unless your a pro and your job depends on it you shouldn't be playing through injuries, rest is the only way to recover, you'll just end up delaying recovery or more likely make any injury worse.
