Where the frig has it gone?!

Defense is all about attitude and intensity and we had bags of it earlier in the season with a real desire to defend well. Now it just looks like they cant be bothered. Earlier in the season it wasn't such a big deal if we made an error in our own half as I was confident we could make up for it with some brutal defence. Now opposition players are making it look easy to score against us. Yes you can look to the coach to put it right but some of them players need to have a long hard look at themselves and honestly decide if they are giving 100%. At the moment very few of them could truthfully say yes.

our 'top' players only get themselves interested for the 'top' games they aren't interested in playing Widnes, London, Cas, Wakefield or trips to France...international call ups and NRL moves beckon for this bunch of fantastic talents



the sooner several players wake up and realise a move to a team outside of the play-offs such as Widnes (ala Danny Tickle) is more likely to be on the cards than a move to Melbourne Storm the better.

If they don't sort themselves out soon, they'll all find themselves in a team outside the playoffs.

Think they are trying. I know it's about opinions but think your knee jerking a little. A few spells there we were intense. We couldn't sustain it though due to 1 major factor, extreme tiredness which comes from 1 major reason WE ARE DUMB. Massively massively dumb. Astounding how often we take wrong options which lead to poor execution. We had to defend our line, come off our line constantly, and defend back to back sets due to errors n pens until we had nothing left. We couldn't be intense cos we'd already destroyed our energy levels via stupidity. Get smart and we'll be much better. How you just switch that back on though I don't know, I don't know how it suddenly disappeared either. Mr gentles got some work to do!!!

I think our rotation strategy in recent weeks has been strange, and possibly contributed. 2 props playing 25 minutes across 2 spells at either end of the game is leaving 1 huge stint for the other 2 props in the middle. That's just too much work for too long to keep it all up to scratch every week.

Then there's 2 backrowers playing the full 80 nearly every week. Exactly where are our interchanges going?

its not a knee jerk the defensive attitude has been appalling for several weeks now. Compare the defensive "effort" over the last month with that earlier in the season and it's not even close. Really thought after the recent poor performances we would have seen a reaction if for nothing else than personal pride. Seems I was expecting too much.

couldn't agree more. The standard was garbage.

We were awful all game. No defensive line speed, no control of the ruck, no quick PTB, awful

We've got to be the slowest team in the league , Throw in the poor handling (which doesn't seem to improve season after season ) , Dummy runners .. Where have they gone ?. Defensive structure and attitude has gone awol . Terrible performance last night.

I think most of the players left their intensity on holiday in Majorca

Looking at the stats on the super league website we've made the most tackles as a team over the season, and I think thats where the drop in intensity is coming from, we've made 900 more tackles than wigan this season which is an extra 7.5 sets of tackling per game we're making, clearly we are never gonna win games if we don't have ball in hand and the energy levels at this stage of the season must be saping if we're continuing to do this to ourselves every game, its' self destruct.
