We're losing far too many points from missed conversions. I know that Tickle's injured but we have players like Crooks and Westerman who can kick to a high standard. It's not like it's written in Holdsworth's contract that he has to kick conversions. Holdsworth's a fantastic player but he shouldn't be near that kicking tee.

Think we have been used to a good goal kicker like Tickle and he is going to be hard to replace.Think maybe young Crooksy should be tried.

Someone else has to take over, it's not the first time his kicking has cost us points.

That said it was an awful awful performance and kicking shouldn't have even been a factor. Headless chickens is the only way to describe our attack and I haven't seen us defend worse than that this year, their pack totally bossed ours from start to finish.

Apparently miller is a half decent goal kicker.

Whiting, as ordinary a kicker as he is, would probably have kicked at least two of those Holdsworth missed.

I'd try Crooks, personally.

Holdsworth should never have kicked a goal for Hull, he was awful at Salford.

Let him stick to what he's good at.

Since were losing Briscoe, How about we go in for Foster, Just for his goal kicking.

Wasn't Holdsworth one of the top GK last season??

Sadly, holdsworh is far off standard to be kicking conversions for us, losing way to many points and possibly even games and valuable 2 league points... Personally I'd say his conversion kicking is utter e; on field kicking, yeah he's pretty good.
Please please please revoke these duties and give it to someone else...!

We were awful tonight but those are the sort of games you should be able to pull out of the bag with decent goal kicking.

Indeed; as I said, he cost us 2 league points due to crud goal kicking!

What about conceding 30 points to a side who won't make the play offs?

Of course that goes without sayin, simply poor really... Needed to win that, really by a decent scoreline. Can't take anything away from Cas.

Crooks isnt a very good kicker,was terrible sometimes for u-20s and Westerman isnt a reliable one either.he had 3 off the touchlines,not easy but the 1 he should have got was the 1 to Heremias try.

Has been a worry for weeks. Tickle should sort it this season, but definitely a concern for next year.

Seen Miller kick a few from touch, I'd give him a go.

totally agree and Westerman is a similar standard unfortunately. Unless Crooks or Miller can step up its going to be a problem for the foreseeable future.

They didn't ALL have to be converted for us to win. Kicking 50% of the ones he missed would have given us the game.

Also a worry that he doesn't seem to kick well under pressure.

Had very kickable conversions to win at Saints and against Rovers and missed.

Good stats Hutchie. How many did Tickle miss though? Was it 66% of his attempts?

Not read the rest of the thread but a defeat (mathematically) down to goal kicks has been coming with DJ's recent kicking record. His success rate from the right hand side of the posts must be pretty abysmal this season. Time for a change - he's valuable to us in many ways but there are others who can kick goals - Westy or Crooks when Ticks isn't there.

Crooks in his last season in 20s dropped right off goal kicking wise. Think miller when tickle not about best bet. Prob just needs a bit longer getting adjusted to the new ball
