Would be great to keep him, a real gamebreaker. As well as big money and a long deal, I'd think he'd be demanding quality service.

Get the feeling he wants to go to oz.

Good to see AP showing his intent to keep him.

Couldn't blame him if he wants to test himself in the NRL and have a stint Down Under.

Hopefully, a better Hull FC 2013 may also encourage him to hang around and enjoy some good times at the club. As long as its Hull or the NRL I'll respect his decision either way.

Doubt we can and not sure spending a big percentage of the cap on a winger is the way to go.

I'd be gutted if he signed for another SL club though.

way I see it, he plays his heart out trying to attract NRL clubs, gets a good offer, goes OR he plays his heart out, wins something or gets very close and decides he wants to win things with Hull.

I heard the a while back we were planning to talk to Tom now other areas of the squad had being attended to. The stumbling block ahead though is Briscoe will only sign a contract with an NRL get out clause in it, the problem being Pearson (and rightly so) isn't prepared to break the bank for somebody that could turn around and say he has a chance in the NRL. #heard we were looking into the possibility of letting an NRL club sign him up on a five year contract but he is loaned back to us for the first two seasons.

No fact though, only rumour obviously.

Think if we offered him another 2 years he may stay. Instead of a long contract. Then if he wishes to go fair play to him. Would like to see him come back to us though

BBC Sport are quoting from Wednesdays Sportstalk. AP was very clear that he wanted Bricscoe to stay or at least delay his ambition to go down under.

Hope he takes a leaf out of Sam Tomkins book and waits a couple of years, hopefully Gaz Ellis and Scotsisname will persuade him.

Do we get any dispensation to pay him extra without affecting the salary cap to keep him in SL like Wigan did with Tomkins? Can't remember the rules around this.

The rules are for international players.

Each member of the full England squad gets 10k, knights 5k, max 100k.

Not sure on other nations.

Obviously he's a player that we really need to keep.

I would be extremely disappointed if he joined another SL club, but I could understand and appreciate why he would want a go at the NRL.

Hopefully, if he were to go the NRL we'd organise some clause that we'd get first option on him for when he comes back.

I think they do it in football all the time though. I think that the deal is basically, Hull in this case, gets the opportunity to match whatever other team has bid. At the end of the day, it is upto the player. If Hull pay the same as Leeds, for example, then Briscoe would decide his fate

Personally, I think he will go the the NRL. He's good enough and I think he'll do really well over there. Brilliant opportunity for him.

Regarding him coming back to us, what's to say he won't spend the next 8 years there?? I would love him to go for 3 years and then come back, but I think it's a bit of a dream.

If he goes to the NRL then fair enough, the one blessing with this is the position, probably say the only position not short of talent out there is the wing

I have a pal who coaches the juniors at Fev Lions and he says that it is common knowledge that he would like a crack at the NRL but the only other SL side that would interest him should he move would be the Rhinos

wow how could a young kid of his age with his talent refuse an experience of a lifetime to go to Oz and get paid big bucks for it in the process...
I only joined the RN so i could see the planet and got paid peanuts for it ,so tom a young good looking kid with bags of money to play out with in Oz on a mega deal !!! instant superstar !!! and popular with the chikkas too!!!

I think we do, as does every other club in Super League. Wasn't it brought in to help protect the Rah Rah Poachers? Think you can spend up to an extra £100k on one player to encourage them to stay in Super League. Naturally if a talent like Briscoe or Tomkins is on better money, it will also be harder for NRL clubs to attract them down under.
