Also think the office, peep shop, It crowd and the inbetweeners are right up there aswell , I will be in a small minority here but I cant stand father ted

Think that was in a class of its own to be fair.
My two favourite scenes are when the car wouldn`t start,
and the strutting walk for the Germans.

Love the one with the builders aswell .. O'reilly .

Wonder how many of our chosen programmes would make us laugh now. Some things are just not as funny when you watch them years later - thinking particularly about The Young Ones, On The Buses, Love Thy Neighbour etc.

Agree. When i first started watching Only fools and horses and saw the episodes with the blow up dolls and Margate i could not stop laughing but when i watch them now i still find them funny but not as funny as when i first saw them.

That has aged particularly bady. Think it depends on the show, Porridge and the like are still superb. May be a bit heretic, but I don't think Fawlty Towers is all that good years after the event either.

The Young Ones is terrible now. I remember watching universally challenged at the time and was in pain laughing that much. Watching it recently it was still painful but for different reasons

Probably just the right age at the right time - Porridge still good though

The first series of Phoenix Nights was superb.
Only Fools (although I loved grandad it was better when it switched to 50 mins)

Black books has just come on netflix so im gonna give it a blast.

all though its not the best comedy one of the stand out comedy moments for me has to be dawn french falling into that puddle in the vicar of dibley ..
