Only 4 days to our upcoming play-off game and I'm surprised that there isn't a thread about it.

There are two or three game related threads on the Giants board but on here we seem to be more bothered about next season's squad when there is (hopefully) a lot of rugby still to be played this season.

How do people rate our chances? It seems that after beating Leeds convincingly the Giants may be finding some form just at the wrong time for us. However that win and our rather lacklustre performance v Cas should help guard against complacency.

What about the likely attendance? 6pm on a Sunday is a cr@p time but will the reduced admission prices help? There was a steady trickle of people buying tickets when I got mine this morning.

I think it is hard to call tbh, we need to shut Broughy down and play our best rugby if we do this we could get the result



I reckon about 10-11K, not the best of times plus it is shown on sky.

Apart from the leeds result (in a dead match),Hudds have been dire for 2 mths,we are in form and are very very good at home.

We have a good record at home but we were not that good on Sunday and will certainly have to play better than we did to get the result imo

While it was a stop start game I don't think at any point did we feel like we weren't going to win this game. The main things was not to over do anything as there wasn't anything riding on the game. we did show at times the good rugby we have seen over the season.

Yes we'll need to raise our game on Sunday but that is expected and I the players will do that.

On the Huddersfield site the other night, I thought a number of them were confident of a victory over Hull.

I think the crowd will be 10-11K, Hudds don't travel well, and playoff games have had poor crowds for the last few years.

As for the game itself, I'm really looking forward to it, I feel it is too evenly matched teams who are both capable of being a top side on their day. I just hope the game doesn't get spoilt by the Chuckle Brothers (AKA Childs and Ganson)

well im going to say us by 8 pts could be more but i fear the worst from the numpty of a ref

Hudds beating Leeds with 12 men (albeit in a dead rubber) will have taken away any complacency after Hudds poor run of form.

Think Hudds might bring a few, they brought a lot more for the CC game than they did for the SL game and price down from £25 to £20 for North stand

Very tough game and one I wouldn't like to call. Hudds will be brimming with confidence and have plenty of quality. We have to put Brough under pressure when kicking the ball.

Our home record is good but we only just beat Hudds last time. Nothing in it for me.

As you say Paul it really is a difficult one to call and really could go either way. We have to come out the blocks from the off and get right in the faces and get on the front foot and not let them slow the game down. We need quick PTB and to move the ball about at pace. Big performances needed from the forwards to lay the platform for the likes of Seymour, Heremaia & Houghton. Time for Seymour to really shine too.

I think we'll win, but not by much, we've been good at home and our defence, especially on our own line has looked very good recently and we've scored over 100 points in 2 matches so I'm going into this one pretty confident.

Speaking as a Giants fan - before the Leeds game I'd have said we didnt have a cat in hell's chance. Afterwards it could be an absolute belting game.

Giants at (for all intents and purposes) full strength for the first time ever this season and played like they were early on in the season when we topped the league - even in the couple of games we have won recently we were far from convincing, against Leeds we looked the real deal again.

I honestly think home advantage will see you through (and some shockingly bias reffing against us

). Just hope the same Giants team that smashed Leeds turn up...and not the one that lost to Widnes.

If Hudds can get off to a good start & keep the crowd quiet then it's a winnable game. However Hull at the KC is always a big ask. Plus it's almost a lottery with officials now, for either side.

Biggest game of the season, lose and I will be slightly disappointed with the season.

I feel that apart from halfback (brough) I think we are better in the other areas and have a better coach, so with home advantage we should win just.

Think Hudds will win. Intensity is much greater in theses games and whilst we've had 2 easy wins and a big loss in our last 3 games, they are more battle-hardened after last week. Looking forward to it though, much more so than going to Headingley last year when there was zero chance.

There's not much difference there for me, with a few exceptions.

Containing Crabtree and Mason, and stopping Brough is the key. We can't give Broughy room to think and play.

Was all dependent on what the consultant said, he has been training this week, and I am sure he will want to feature in the last home game, yeah I agree straight swap for Green. I don't think the team looks too shabby tbh, going to be a right good battle.
