Willie Manu has been a rare shining light for FC over the past few years and I will be sorry to see him go to Saints. But I'd rather have Gareth Ellis for the next 3 seasons. Only time will tell.

Massive loss, but Gareth Ellis more than makes up for it.

Still, it would have been awesome to have them both and it will be sad to see Willie in a Saints shirt, especially when they play us.

I have to ask all those people that think Ellis is going to be as good as Manu. Have you seen Ellis play this year? Yes hes had a short season, 6 or 7 games back since a bad ankle break, but I have watched him in most of those 6 or 7 games and he has not looked like breaking a tackle! Ok he has not looked like missing one either but I hope we get the Ellis of 2010/11.
I know you don't get player of the year in an NRL team 2 years in a row by being average, but that is all he's been this year in my opinion. If his stats next year are half as good as Manu's I will be more than happy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm gutted he's leaving too. Games like tonight are Manu at his best, but he doesn't reach that standard on a consistent basis.

Kid yourself that he's "poop" in the games he's not ripping teams apart all you like. Of course he doesn't play to that standard every week, if he did he'd be in the NRL, but to label him inconsistant as if that means he's somehow rubbish in the games he's not destroying teams is just complete nonsense. Even his "poor" performances are at a good standard. He will be a big loss.

He will be a big loss regardless of signings for next season. I'm still slightly in disbelief that after all the crap he's been part of the past few years he wasn't tempted enough to be part of something potentially great with us
