Yes you could play the ball off the foot forward to yourself if there was nobody in front of you

one rule i miss a lot.... really made players keep on their toes for 80 mins or you got burned

Linked on that page is extended highlights of the 82 tour match, that was some game, I think we might have gone in at half time in the lead. Going to watch it again later, that was some team we had in 82.

The team that the Aussies had out for the 82 game was awesome, full strength test team which was unheard of for a mid week tour game.

it was a midweek game but the aussies played their full test team as they considered it to be their only threat of going unbeaten

Dowling played for Wigan. He was in their team which beat rovers in the 85/86 JPS trophy.

I could be wrong but I think you can play the ball turn and pick it up and run off.

Evans and Crooks both played in that series didn't they. I seem to remember Crooks kicking our only points at Boothferry park. I think Rose might have even been recalled at some point.

Where is Wilf when you need him

Skerrett, Rose, Norton, Evans, Topliss and Crooks all featured at some point in the test series. Evans was the only GB player to score a try against the Aussie test team.

Jesus....some seriousley bad players in that team but Brown was a utter sack of $hit,in watching FC for 37yrs,he is the WORST i have ever seen.He was supposed to be a Aussie international...god knows what at,wasnt bloody rugby.
