I think he was implying Dobson was the victim of a high tackle and demanding a penalty, when everyone could see it was a simple clash of heads and turnover.

While I think Ganson has to maintain his authority and the physio shouldn't be telling him how to do his job, I hope he regrets using a rhetorical question to do it. Made him look like a psychopath teacher. We all make mistakes, of course.

Why would ganson regret it? The physio has no right suggesting something was amiss with the tackle, particularly when nothing was. ganson should have told him to get dobson off the field and restarted the game instead of giving rovers a breather

A rhetorical question in that situation looks bullying. If he'd said 'Don't speak to me like that' or 'mind your own business', then fair enough, the lad can keep his head down and has the [uoption[/u of contrition. By turning it into a question, unless he's willing to accept an answer (which he wasn't, it seemed to me), he's requiring the physio to be complicit in his own humiliation. Now, it happened quickly, so that degree of analysis is bordering on the ridiculous, but if he reflects on it I'd hope he'd see it as a minor, heat of the moment mistake. Not an easy job, by any stretch.

The only positive from the physio's POV, was that I don't think he said anything further despite Ganson's snidey Napoleon-syndrome provocation

, so it should be 'patronising comeback sufficient'.

I sodding hate people with authority using rhetorical questions - pretending to agree was horrible when I was young and there is always the slight fear of retribution now that I've changed to a more ' it, I'll pretend you wanted an honest answer' approach. Usually worth it, just to see their faces however. Anyway that's enough of my petty hang-ups - I've no doubt I've done it myself, hypocrite that I am. I would feel bad if it were pointed out to me.

Thought Ganson was lenient in allowing Dobson to weep copiously on the physio's shoulder and then receive treatment. Presumably he decided the shame was part of the punishment.
