Does anyone have a clue about pubs near the new stadium, wheres best to go before game???

isnt it right near trafford centre??

I was told there is a Weatherspoons somewhere near the ground?.

would love to know its name...as they usually name there pubs after something local etc......could be...."the salford red "

londons could be "the flogging a dead horse"

The weatherspoons is in Eccles town centre and a Good 40/45 minutes walk to the ground.

Close by and where seen the most away fans has been the the grapes or the unicorn both on Liverpool Rd. this is the other side of the motorway to the ground (would take 1st exit off the motorway instead of 3rd for the ground) but if your having a pint the landlord is ok with you parking there at no cost (unicorn). That is a 20 minute walk to the ground. There is also a social club just off the motorway called St. Michaels.

There is Eccles Rugby League club close by to this who offer secure parking at £3 but have the club house open per and post match also and heard show dvd's of rugby matches I.e. state of origin games.

As a home fan I would suggest these are a better option also at the moment for where to park as getting out of the ground is a bit of a 'mare

There is a close bar at Barton airport which is across the road from the stadium, I haven't tried this out so can't comment on what it is like.

Yes, as already pointed out the Unicorn is your best bet for pre match pint. At least it has a decent game day atmosphere in there! It also has a massive carpark and is a 15-20 minute walk to the ground!

Be warned guy their is literally no where to booze if you turn upto the ground directly! Even as you turn into the ground it's a good 5 / 10 walk,although it kidds the eye as the stadium looks close. As a fan I wouldn't know what to recommend, Trafford ? atlest you know where you are then? Nearest proper pub is about 30 mins walk away which includes getting into ground (tried and tested) So TBH I'd have a drink in Traff n catch the mini bus! Unless the club or an outside partener build a pub on site I can see it de-valuing the match day experience. Also be warned they ran out of beer against Cas' so if you can seek a few cheeky tinnies in, that will also enhance your match day experience.

What you on about programmethrower, its 1.2 miles walking from front door of the unicorn pub to the stadium. It takes me 20mins with a 7 and 5 year old in tow. I can't comment on any of the others guys apart from the grapes or unicorn as there the only ones I have been in since moving to the new ground but as Ave it says, car park is not a bad size and good banter aswell. Where wigan fans pre season came and a fair few Cas couple weeks back.
