Never quite did it for us, except the first SL game away at Sheff, but god he was ace in his pomp

We also had our fair share of Plodders/Wasters/Nobody's and Balsa-wood blokes.

hull sharks- worse memories of bin a hull fan. we seemed to lose a lot more than our proud name. And yes I do remember bin rubbish in the 70s but at least they our rubbish hull fc

My best hull side was the late 90's early 2000's. Grimaldi, Maher, Maiden, The Smiths, A young Richard Horne, and Cookie. Can't forget A front row of Greenhill, Jackson (or deano triester) and Kingy!

How I miss the Boulevard!!!

The Sharks days was when I started going, I mainly remember how we could go from sublime to ridiculous in seconds. Classic example was a memory of Logan Campbell. Can't remember who we were playing, but he made a break towards the scoreboard end, was cantering in with nobody near him, then dropped the ball for no apparent reason. You simply never knew what was going to happen.

It was against Leeds; he'd made a length of the field break and with ten metres to go slowed down to cheer and was caught by Paul Sterling our ex winger.
Iirc he did almost the same during the season .I.e dropped the ball with the line wide open.

We were against Leeds, he broke the line and was away with Leeds players chasing after him. As he approached the line he slowed up, raised his arm to salute the crowd only for a Leeds player to come up behind and knock the ball out of his arm!





Thankfully for him - we still managed to win the game!

Cheers. Think I've maybe merged the 2 incidents in my head, I remember the length of the field break but only vaguely remember him being caught by the defender now that you mention it. Must have been the other game when he fumbled it at random.

Dean Treister never played at The Boulevard.

And the players you mention were from the 2000-2002 seasons.

most of the players in that squad were terrible....hence why they was playing for us at the time...we were shizzer at best

So in hindsight who do you feel was the worst owner / chairperson? Lloyd or Heatherington?

Who can forget horne steaking down the wing ..............

The team struggled to be paid a lot of the time and I know some players where owed money long after the sharks had been consigned to the deep . They had limited ability but they tried, more then some we have had since. It gave the likes of Horne, King and Cooke to progress into the team. Steve Crooks had them firing towards the end of the 1999 season and we managed to stay above Huddesfield, thus avoiding relegation. I know the amalgamations came in after this, but at the time staying up was important.

Fili Seru was one of the biggest wingers I have ever seen, no sorry was the slowest winger I have ever seen..............

..........was the slowest player I have ever seen.

Still some good memories from those days and some players who have and are still serving the game well.

I know there's a lot of negativity linked to that name but winning the league (and promotion) at Huddersfield is one of my happiest memories as a Hull fan.
