I can only presume that either:

Lauaki came across as a "sleeper", taking his time settling in to Superleague at a non top-four club, before exploding with a champion team

Shaun Wane can see something that no one in either hemisphere has managed to so far see

Im sorry in a way to loose him. When he played as a wide running 2nd row with agression he was great. But playing him at prop and loosing the aggression made him pants. Also poor in defence, low stamina and penalty machine. But i reckon he may go well at wigan if used properly

He's way to much hit and miss for my liking but if your coach can get out of him the right peformances he could prove to be a good signing. But I really cannot see it.

I don't remember him ever being 'great' - even in that game at Saints he only did well.
Agree with your other points about him. It's an intriguing situation. Wigan offering a three year + 1 option for him when many FC fans are not disappointed to see him go. Me being one of them.

Had 1 good game here, and that was in the mist.

Well it wouldn't surprise me to see another coach get more out of him than Agar could.

Lauaki just didn't cut it at Hull Fc, whether that's down to coaching/attitude/ability is yet to be seen. One thing's for sure your coaching staff will have to work overtime and perform a minor miracle to get some kind of consistency and all round performance.

As for Lauaki,will be interesting to see how he gets on at Wigan,some pies on their forum seem to think now he is under a new coach he will be an improved player.

he's definately got potential but whether agar's lack of coaching prowess stifled his development or whether he's just inconsistent and an average player we will see shortly at wigan

I just don't get it. He has a great hand-off, but he is flat-footed in defence and gives away penalties at the most frustrating times. I'd have been very disappointed if we'd given him a 3 year deal. Surely he's not expected to replace Joel Tomkins?
Cue him playing 2 good games a season for the next 3 years (and you can guess which 2).

Interesting that Wigan's chairman has stated Wane specifically requested the signing of Lauaki....makes you think there was perhaps some debate between the two of them as to whether it was a good idea.

I actually think if you hit him at speed then he could be an effective sesond row as he has a good offload....the trouble you may have is in improving his fitness, defence and general attitude on the pitch - I used to watch his stints intently and he looked bored most of the time. Mind you so was I

your half's this season where terrible maybe that was half the problem, the other half is he's fitness but that wont be a problem marc bitcom is a genius just look at what the england lads are saying about there fitness levels. Maybe he will be a flop but i cant think of many better setups to get a real chance at being agressive and fit.
