When the ball came left Chase generally kept hold of the ball and took the tackle. Not at all convinced with the Sinfield / Chase half back pairing.

They won't get decent ball until we get decent half backs.

Another try let in down their side, Briscoe certainly not at fault as he was left in no mans land.

Problem defensively for McNamara is the alternative is Kris Welham who's missed 205 tackles in the last 3 seasons, in the top 10 worst players in SL every season in this respect. In that context Yeaman's rock solid.

Kris Welham isnt in the squad. Carl Ablett is the alternative but would probably mean shifting Reed to the left and Ablett slotting in on the right. Cant see Mcnamara making such a change to his structure at this stage.
The sad thing from my point of view is that i think that Tom Briscoe on the left wing can cause any team in the world problems if he is given good ball but Yeaman and Chase arnt equiped to do it at this level.

I was meaning from a squad selection perspective. Welham gutted to have missed the cut, so he's certainly in the mix at this level.

Wouldn't disagree - Reed is a bit all or nothing for me and Chase seems to operate independently from the rest of the team he team which obviously has a disproportionate impact on Yeaman and Briscoe. I was responding to your good friend who saw fit to post on here that Yeaman was poor in defence today. Personally I don't think you'll find many on here claiming Yeaman is a world class centre, but I thought he played well last week and OK today. I'm happy for him that he's first pick at this level, but the fact we're drafting in Reed and have Ablett and Welham, who averages 70 missed tackles as season, as back-up says much about the options McNamara has open to him.

Entirely on topic. You slate Yeaman, I comment on the alternatives, which are poor.

I thought there was alot of positives tonight....hall and reed looked solid on the right...apart from that one try on the left,which for me was yeamos error for coming inside, was solid aswell....tomkins was as lively as ever...chase was alot more involved then the france game and looked more at ease....widdop looked good off the bench and the pack did a good job...been very impressed with the new larkers so far..feeling optimistic but the real test will come next week.

I thought Yeamo moved infield too far and left Briscoe high and dry. Briscoe worked harder around the ruck than normal, as did most of the outside backs. Nothing startling from the Welsh team, I thought Briers tried too hard at times, with little support. As said previously - The real test is next week.

Let's be honest most Rovers fans are sat watching the England games hoping Yeaman and Briscoe put in crap performances and make errors.

Its just stood out that Yeaman has made defensive errors in both recent games that has led to trys been scored, simple really.
