| Was reading an article on BBC Sport about the cost of attending football matches...and HullFC find themselves on there cited as an 'expensive' comparison to the cost of football matches.
[urlhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14366574.stm[/url
Including the cost of the cheapest matchday ticket, programme, pie and a cup of tea watching Hull costs £27.
I know the club don't control the prices of the pies and the tea...but the match day pricing looks a rip-off when you compare to other sports. Especially considering our mid-table status in our own league and amount of empty seats/low demand each week.

| I presume Hull FC were referenced as the article is written by Stuart Rowson, former Sports Editor at the HDM

| Not being a season pass holder, ive got to say ive noticed in the past couple of seasons how expensive going to a match ends up costing.
Obviously it doesnt help when in return you get to watch uninspiring rugby - and this at the end of the day is a form of entertainment, it doesn't exactly offer value for money.
Hopefully now with AP in charge and his links to the Allams we may be able to negociate a better deal in regards to ticket revenue. Hopefully in 2-3 years when Agar's gone and a good coach has come (and we are hopefully seen as challengers again) then there could be an argument for games to be 'banded' with a sliding scale for prices based on the opponents?

Don't bet on it. Just after taking over Pearson described the deal we have with the SMC as excellent.
That doesn't mean the season ticket and match day prices won't be frozen or even reduced, though.

Id like to think they would be frozen atleast, having to pay more to watch our current lot would be taking the preverbial.

| Bring your own flask and sarnie? It is extremely rare that i have bought a hot drink from the stadium, far too expensive and weak - no matter what you buy.

| If you buy stadium food and drink then you forfeit the right to complain. There is simply no need to.

Absolutely. They are both overpriced rubbish. I never buy anything at the stadium.

| It's interesting to note that the article has us under "Cheapest days out at other live events". It doesn't say we're expensive at all, just that some days out for football compares favourably with the other examples they provide.
At least we're not Arsenal who appear to be asking £100 a ticket. Some mistake surely.

No - it's quoted [iour[/i cheapest price for a seat/programme/pie/cuppa. They have randomly chosen various live event from different areas of live entertainment.

They could have chosen Leeds, Wigan or Wakefield as an example of an SL price comparision.
At no point does it say we are an expensive event.

You are missing the point of the article. Its to compare the most expensive and least expensive ticket prices at Premier league football clubs. Arsenals most expensive tickets are £100. This is for their "headline" games (Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham) and its for a percentage of the available seats after season ticket holders seats (approx 40000) and the away allocation (3000). Of the spare 17000 seats they are split roughly equally into their price bandings. This would mean there would be approx 4250 seats for 5 matches a season at £100.

| We are the most expensive match day ticket though so maybe that's why we were chosen.
