We need a new one that can return the ball and doesn't gift the oppo easy tries as phelps is dire

You mean a fullback that can intercept the ball and make a good break down field like er........ Phelps!!!

He didn't have an overall bad game, one very big mistake admittedly but overall he was decent IMO.

unreal phelps as said did an intercept and took numerous balls on the full apart from the try had a reasonable good game but if it makes you happy to blame him so be it , as bad as the clown near me who did nothing but moan all night even when we scored said we should off the set before . people should look further for the real problem not phelps

His positioning was awful on numerous occasions last night. At one point (and it was highlighted by Jon Wells in the post match analysis) he was outside Briscoe when defending our line, leaving nobody to sweep up the kick through.

To be fair, I think that was when he'd made a try saving tackle and had to cover our left as no one else was there.

Other than that he was all over the place though

No, in the analysis you could see that as the covering defenders came across he moved further out as they joined rather than let them pass and get back in position. Wigan didn't have the numbers outside for him to need to do that either, you could see that they had to come back infield from the ptb, and they duly did, leaving him about 20 yards from the play.

I haven't bothered watching the SKY coverage so don't have the benefit of that 2nd viewing

It was more apparent then, when viewed from behind the tryline and with time to look at what Wigan were doing. He basically stayed out wide to help cover nobody.

Both in attack and defence we look as though the players have never met each other before and have no idea what one an other are doing/going to do. There's no structure , no organisation , no intelligence. Wigan had so much time and knew instinctively what was happening and where their support was. They have a coach who put's systems in place and makes them work. Most players effort can't be faulted but you'll get nowhere with effort alone.

Apart from the dodgy bounce of the ball that led to a try he had a good game.

He's crap his ball returns are poor but that is my opinion

I think you should ring the club and tell them we need to sign one for next season

We do, but he's currently struggling to leave his old folks home on his crutches and come over here





as for Phelps I think he has done a good job this season, and will be surprised if another SL club doesn't snap him up for next year.

He hasn't featured for Wests for the last 3 or 4 games now because of poor form.

Last 1/2 games not 3/4. He is a very good fullback.

I'd start putting this stuff on cut-and-paste mate.

His last game was in round 18.

2 dodgy legs and he can't even get into the wests side now. Should fit right in at Hull for the next 3 years
