During the franchise announcement, Richard Lewis mentioned that during the current franchise period (2009-2011), more than 100 club trained players made their debut (I'm not sure on the exact amount, was it 150?)

I thought it'd be interesting to discover how many club trained players Hull gave SL debuts to during this period. As far as I can tell, we've only given debuts to 4 players; Hodgson, Cunningham, Lyne and Nicklas. Out of these players, only Lyne has started a game (12 in total) with Nicklas playing 3, Hodgson 2 and Cunningham 1 from the bench. In these games, I remember the players only playing cameo roles. I know Hodgson left in 2010 and Nicklas has suffered from some nasty injuries, but these numbers are poor.

Now, considering during this period we've had an injury hit season with nothing to play for (2009), I find these numbers extremely poor. For such a hot bed of RL with (assumably) some of the best facilities in the league, how does this happen? Where is the youth?

While not wishing to start another Agar Out thread, you have to question his decisions to play McShane, Broughton, Codobra and Webster rather than Hull born players. When Broughton, Codobra and Webster all played, the seasons were essentially gone.

Though, there's a bigger picture here. Are the youth actually coming through for him to choose? We've heard big things about the Briscoes, Kent, Cunningham, Green, Williams and Nicklas but they've never made the leap from U20's to first team - are they capable? Is the jets program a success?

It's really odd that Agar seems to have a reputation amongst a lot of people on the inside and outside of the game for being some kind of youth development guru. His record for bringing youngsters through is abysmal and then you get stories like the one on the other thread about how he treats the young lads, it's baffling where people get the idea from.

Hopefully we'll see a difference under the new regime. Those stats are poor.

Liam Kent got some game time against Oldham as well as Jack Aldous.

Yes, I wasn't sure whether the 100+ club trained players stat related to SL only or not.. so I mentioned only SL.

I think the jets program is a complete failure with those stats. Although a few players have had games there is only Lyne who has played more than a handful. We do need a full clearout of backroom staff from top to bottom and we need to let the new coach decide who he thinks should be in those positions.

When you consider just 5 years ago we were one of the best at producing home grown talent we have now become one of the worst in such a short period of time.

Sherrif,beaumont,cox,latus,taylor and probably hodgson are all debutants for hull kr.since 2009.

Doesn't say much for the scouts at the club either. It could well be that they have failed to recognise talent.
The chief scout left at the end of 2010 and it may well take some time to adjust and see improvements.
I am not defending Agar's record at all far from it. But imo the scouting system has been poor at the club for a long time. For a hot bed Hull has produced very few quality players for a long time.
