Why are we signing a 31yr old over the hill Aussie? Takes an overseas place!
When we've got a decent Aussie fullback now he's only 26 getting better each game the fitter he gets. I've heard people saying he's crap but any1 remember his first season a Wigan he played very well. Get a good pre season under his belt and I think he could be 1 of the best fullbacks in sl.
Just thought what others think.

McKinnon is far better than Phelps.

Thought Phelps did well today and was one of the better players last week, too. I think he's growing into the side and will be sorry if he goes.

Was staggered at his substitution.

McKinnon is a better fullback but his injury record is worrying. Phelps would have been a decent fullback next season I agree but not quite good enough if we want to be a top 4 side.

And then some!

I have my doubts over injuries, but I've seen enough of Mckinnon over the years to know he brings a great game with a bit of X-factor thrown in.

he will be pushing 34/35 yrs of age and I think at the standard that he will be expected play I think that it will be hard for him.

How many times have you seen McKinnon play?

Brett Hodgson is drawing his pension but still a fine player.

I follow the nrl more than the sl to be honest as it's a country mile far better than the sl! As wade as struggled with injuries for his last 2 years is my concern an he's the wrong side of 30 for my likeing.

Wrong side of 30? Wouldn't that be 39? With the right side being 31?

I didn't say the wrong side of 38 did I? The better side of 30 is twenties.
It's just my opinion and I think were at least 4/5 players short of been a good team next season.

Nobody is seeing Mckinnon play atm . He's been dropped because of poor form. Oh, and I'd rather have neither.

To be fare he's been abit part player for the last 2 years as he lost his place at the warriors before he signed for tigers.

Who said anything about mush? We will just have to wait an see won't we? Just my opinion.
As for Brett hodgson different class to McKinnon.

McKinnon is a better player than Phelps and always has been. Tough on Phelps though as he has been doing well.

Phelps is OK, but I think we need better. His fitness is also not reliable enough.

I do have concerns about McKinnon's age and injury record giving me doubts he's the answer, though.

McKinnon couldn't get a game in nz and would be behind Locke, fishiali and hohaia. So he moved to west tigers as cover for molzten and lui who missed the rest of the year. He also lost his place at parra for Luke burt and was shipped on.

He is also injury prone having had a serious knee injury and niggling hamstrings, he'll be 31 by the time he plays and isn't as quick as he was at his peak.

If you want to return to the top of SL then signing this type of player on long contracts will not work. Hopefully Pearson will sort you out top down as the game needs a strong hull fc.

mckinnon has been absoloutley shocking recently. i really feel for phelps i think he is a solid full back and playing really well atm my guess is the dobbins will snatch him up off us i think mckinnon maybe 3 years ago on a 3 year deal yes but imo now is the wrong choice injury prone and losing pace and looks like hes got a hole in his hands atm but hes gunna be here next season so nothing we can do now is they lol

Mixed opinions then!!! on a personal note I think it's a crap signing if where looking to build a quality side.

defenatly not the way forward imo either
