| just watched game again, how good was that try he scored, cant believe he kept his feet in the air.
on another note, whats peoples thoughts on him partnering gleeson?i thhought it was a good call as his height is a real plus, with them kicks peppering over to him it reminds me of pat richards out jumping people,i know hes not quick but hes got a great rugby brain and could form a great partnership.

| Yep I hold my hands up I was against him on the wing due to the speed issue but it worked a treat and I'm happy to admit I was wrong. His height, strength and reading of the game makes a great combo with Gleeson and me and my mate had the same conversation about the Richards comparison with the high kick tactic, Wigan get plenty of try's that way so could add a new dimension. Just about to watch it again myself

| I think he'll be on the wing for a good while now until needed elsewhere. When he broke his arm the first time against Quins I think he had been playing on the wing then for a few games. He aint going the length of the field any time soon but has other attributes which are very useful in attack and defence. Plus he can swap with Gleese when Gleese needs a breather

| Defensively he's probably the best choice for that wing. It can't be denied that his pace isn't that of a winger and therefore there'll be something missing in attack, but then again Fa'afili wasn't exactly lightning was he? He seemed to do alright outside Gleeson.

| I posted before the Rovers game that I would play Whiting outside of Gleeson
Just in case Dobson played he would bomb our wings ..I know the kid is not that fast but
he can read the game and is safe under the high ball and can return it ..he is also good at the short kick off not many get the better of him ..Only my opinion I would leave that right hand side now we look a lot stronger there against Rovers ..it's the first time we have been able to attack a team from both sides of the field Rovers couldn't defend against us .It gave our kickers 2 points of attack instead of going left all the time But we are only fans and it's not our job on the line

| Great partnership and it clearly worked...
A big fan of Rich plus he's safe as houses, never have any doubts when he's under a high ball.
Took his try well too.

| I think he's great at reading kicks from the opposition. Puts himself in the right position nearly all the time.
Took his try superbly as well. Top player.

| i was one calling for him to play on the wing and obviously worked, now long term he isnt the answer you would think but everytime he plays on the wing he does well ok we all know he aint got pace but his height and the ability to out jump and catch the ball is a great asset

| Went well there, and we don't need pace on the wing anyway, we never pass there!

| Good Friday we had 2 outstanding wingers that read the game Whiting was in the right place on every play
then Briscoe when he chased back to tackle Fox He just knew Fox was going to cut back inside I know our fullback check his run but Fox should have back himself to take him on the outside but he didn't

| His lack of pace is more than compensated by his brilliant rugby brain and safe pair of hands. I hope he stays on Gleesons wing, Rich has never had the chance to settle in a position and it would be great for him to nail down this berth.

| great game from whiting and the gameplan was spot on to pepper that side with bombs but with long out 4 6 weeks would that plan be as effective??
I dont think we have anyone who can put those kicks in to the corner as good as longy does.

| I'm a big fan of Rich and was glad to see him do such a great job on the wing yesterday. I know people always point out his lack of pace, but to my mind his speed of thought more than makes up for it!

| do we think this partnership will be as effective without long peppering that side with bombs?
I dont think we have anyone else who can put kicks into that space like longy does...longs best game for us by a mile....whiting was decent and i wouldnt change it,but like i say without those bombs i dont think it would be as effective...ps gleeson was quality and made the right side a big threat!

| I can see Whiting playing wing for some time now , We will throw it left in the oppositions 30 and then bomb the right with Gleeson & Whiting hight now.
