but Washy is Hooker cover and turner is no Hooker and i wouldn't move Obst from 7 to Hooker for Turner to come on ! i would have rather have Washbrook coming on at Hooker and not breaking up the Halfback Partnership

Fair enough, wasn't sure if the outrage was misplaced with him taking a knock last week.

TBH, though, he'd have probably been the one to make way for Phelps for me too. Positionally made sense, the fact that Washbrook isn't good enough at hooker doesn't make that wrong.

I don't know what Washys role is in this side anymore.

Which is a bit odd really. We have a 19 man squad , let two play 20's the day before the game knowing we need to use one of them as 18th man "just in case". It underlines just how thin our squad is. With only Long injured we still end up having a player playing two games in two days.

Turner has had a poor start to the season. He's offered little in attack and his defence is awful to be honest. Had to be dropped.

It's a fine line tbh, if Dowes hadn't of played u20's and moa had have been fit today Dowes wouldn't have played any competitive rl for a few weeks.

I don't know but he may have only played 20/30 in the u20's.

I think he's supposed to be a rotation hooker, but given that his distribution is the weakest part of his game he is very unsuitable for (arguably incapable of) that.

Certainly lends argument for Long to start at 7 with Obst off the bench rotating with Houghton. Big mistake today that cost Hull.

Washys role today was to knock on at the play ball - the match defining moment! He must be gutted, blowing that play but that did cost us the game.
