I was trying to think of a scientific way to make an educated guess about it and all I could come up with was....

2009 when we were playing awful this game got just over 10000, going by the reduced number of season passes and the poor attendance for the Leeds game multiplied by the current "economic climate" I think this could be the first sub 10k crowd for a long time.

Approx how many season passes have we sold this year btw??? I can't see us selling over 500 tickets on top of that which makes my guess?????? Help please

Nobody seems to know but most guesses seem to be around the 8k mark. Seriously the only people I can think of who would actually buy a ticket for this game are the die-hard FC fans who couldn't get a season pass for some reason, and how many of those could their actually be?

The way we have been performing I think we're lucky to get over 9,500. I wonder if the club will be giving out any freebies. I remember they used to give out tickets for free to rugby clubs and schools in Hull, especially against teams like crusaders and quins.

They announced 8,000 season ticket sales just after New Year and AFAIA there's been no further updates.

As for Friday unless the club comes up with an amazing offer or they give a few hundred away to schools then I doubt there'll be over 10,000 there.

I thought I read on here that the club are running a promotion, tbf they usually do for this fixture and the Quins & Cats games, so we may get over 10k, just mind

Can you actually include free tickets in the attendance? I know Rovers have given freebies to serviceman in the armed forces.

That seems a bit mean of them. Poor bast*rds get back from 6 months in the Afghan mountains and then have to suffer the indignity of a trip down Preston Road.

Well we got 15,592 for the Harlequins game in 2009 (that was a HDM promotion, not sure if tickets were free or heavily discounted). Last season there was another deal for the Quins game, with tickets going to amateur clubs.

Both clubs have computer linked turnstiles and the total announced is actual people that pass through free tickets and all. the practise of including all seasons whether they turn up or not has now ceased and only season ticket holders who actually pass through the turnstiles are counted. Some corporates may or may not be included but everyone on the terraces is counted including freebies. Its a requirement in the Sportsground license.

Last time we got an attendance in SL below 10k was July 2006, so approx 60 games ago.
