the vote was clearly rigged from the off.

Spain/Portugal, England and the USA could hold a world cup next month if they had to, as they have large stadiums with big infrastructures.

instead the FIFA committee would prefer to host games in several different time zones in Russia, with long-journey times between each host city (Imagine being a fan and basing yourself in Moscow for the group games, then having to fly right to Siberia for the 2nd round game etc) and even worse, would rather see footballers compete in 50degree heats in a country that has no football tradition. Pure greed.

I also don't buy the 'spreading the game to new areas' argument either, as Germany and Brazil (previous and upcoming hosts) are hardly football backwaters.
