FC Voices have been working with both the club and the Council to try and offer FC supporters something to remind them of their spiritual home at Boulevard. The Group had a meeting on site with the Council, at which it was stated that the grass was to stay in place until the work on the Academy starts, sometime in the future. Everything else will be removed. The Threepenny Stand is of breeze block construction and little is salvageable of that, but there are a quantity of the tip up seats from that stand which have been removed and stacked on site.

Following negotiations with the Council it has been agreed that these will be available for any fans who wish to collect them on Saturday 25th September.

The seats will be provided in sections of three, so that they can easily be taken away in people’s cars. To ensure as many as possible are available a maximum of three per person will be allowed. They will be available for collection from the Massey Close entrance outside the Boulevard from 9am until 1.00pm on a strictly first-come first-served basis. Unfortunately, it is impossible to allow access on to the site for health and safety reasons.

This is a big concession from the Council and the demolition company and means a delay on site, so after that time and date any seats that are left will be disposed of.

In addition to this news FC Voices can also confirm that we are now awaiting written confirmation from the Council that the new development on the site will include a memorial to the Boulevard. There will be an area set aside for reflection for those who have their friends or families ashes spread there and we are working to make sure that as many fans as possible are included in the planning stages of these elements of the scheme. As always the group will keep fans posted on developments.
