I know the club were far from blameless with the Cooke situation, but that was somewhat out of there hands, but after that we should have thrown every single penny we had at Dobson and given him whatever he wanted, not signing him when we had the chance was by far our biggest regret since the merger, anyone who says Long is the better player now is simple.

Losing Cooke was the biggest blunder by a country mile. If he would have stayed I reckon we'd have made the Grand final again in 2007.

For the following season, when we did have a place free. He had to come right away though as his visa was running out.

No he didn't. He said they didn't think he was worth what he was asking. But that wasn't the reason we didn't sign him - the deal breaker was the timing.

What happened with Dobson was that we offered around £80,000 as did Wigan, Rovers offered over £100,000 and he went there nothing to do with Visa's I am affraid.

Personally i think letting Shaun Briscoe go and keeping Motu Tony was the biggest mistake we have made in the last 10 years and we have suffered for it time and time again
