No fog for first match next season. How do you fancy all first round matches to be played under the roof at Cardiff?

Not a bad idea in theory. Only problems are not clashing with a 6 nations weekend and the fact it may not be a pleasent drive down there in February..

Unfortunately - no idea is perfect. There are positives tho - everyone keen again - pitch should be in good condition. Tough if we got Catalan away the following week tho.

i like the idea of a sunny weekend in wales with my mates, beer some nice food and mingling with other rugby fans.Now do i want a freezin weekend in wales at the start of the season? no thanks. Its not just about the rugby.

Indeed, for MM (or any other "on the road" event) to work to it's maximum potential it needs to at least be during a period where the weather isn't a cr@p as normal.

However, answers on a postcard from anyone who can identify a period where that is guaranteed.

Yeh its always nice to have a drink and a laugh with friends or family at these occasions but the whole point of these weekends is to help expand the game and I wonder how many people other than the fans of the teams that played turned up any rugby union fans for example.

it's an easier "sell" to friends who aren't usually interested in the game, much like the CC Final.

does that mean the "relegated" club will find out too, save their fans the expense of organising unnecessary travel/accommodation?

I agree when we went this year some mates cames with us who had never seen a game of RL before and they have been to every home game since, but I thought the idea of this was to get people in Scotland interested in our game.

what a joke. To gather any new interest they need to promote this on tv, radio and paper. If its just going to be left to sky the game wont expend. The rfl really need to work hard to push this, and not just rely on regular fans turning up

No because the 2011 season is the last one of the current 3 year period.

The 'relegated' side will be dropped in time for the 2012 season when the next 3 year period starts.

Doesnt stop the RFL from advertising the game as much as they can through other outlets?

If the RL get the marketing right on this could be a great benefit for the Game

My big problem will be cost. 6 weeks after Christmas and my eldest's birthday is not a good time to be finding however much to toodle on down to Cardiff.

A nice warm Wetherspoons will be as far as we go I'm afraid.

I like the idea, would prefer it to be derbies though.

Have to say I'm not a fan of the "Magic" concept at all, although at least next season will start with a bang compared to the last few seasons which had a single stand alone game.

Will not be going....Dec-Buy season passes + xmas....just too much expense for that time of year



Besides it was always on a bank hol ad we stayed for the w/end etc....not worth the hassle now
